3 out of 4, great start
If M's pitching proves to be this good, huge series win
I don't expect Mariners to finish above both A's and Angels, based on everyone's ability to avoid Cano, and the Mariners ability to protect him in the lineup
If I'm Luhnow, I refuse to let Altuve hang out w those Venezuelans in the WBC. He obviously has got caught up in the hookers and blow. Kid is just not himself. Bases loaded no outs w 2-1 lead, and he rolls over to third and trips over his own 2 feet? I don't mean slips out the box, I'm talking steps on his own ankle. But the killer is, he looks back halfway down the line! That's bush league bullshite from a supposed MVP type candidate. He has shown ZERO discipline at the plate.
It's 4 games, and he might go 19-25 over the next 6 games, but his AB tonight there was my most critical point in the game that determined the outcome.

I blame Rougned Odor. Ole never walkin arse coached Tuve to swing at everything.

That's the kind of Chavez trash I'm talking about!
Exactly

And then there is this...
quote:
Collin McHugh's rehab start with AAA Fresno lasted only one inning. He allowed three runs on three hits and a walk. He will need another.
quote:
McHugh had walked out to the mound to begin the second, threw a couple of warm up pitches, called out the trainer, then was removed.

I don't expect McHugh back. I think he's done.
"Dead arm" isn't exactly something you just bounce back from two weeks later.

McHugh woke up one morning not long ago and realized he just wasn't really talented
Smoke and mirrors only go so far
He got the most out of what he had to offer and kudos to him and Luhnow
Best days are behind him

Frankie Tuesday coming for Fiers spot.

Sadly you are probably right

Even if Jabroni doesn't come back...
We get the deal done for Quintana, and watch the rotation go
Keuchel
Q
Lance
Musgrove
Fiers
And if Fiers sucks it up, you lose zero by swapping Devo for Fiers. In fact you gain quite a bit.

Devo is a beast man of a reliever. I don't think he's that great a starting pitcher. His stuff really plays up out of the pen.

I'm not that sad
He's still a "win" for the organization.
If Gurriel continues to go the way of Singleton, that will make me sad.
To be considered one of Cuba's all time greats, and get the kind of financial commitment the Astros gave him, I sure hope he has a bit more than just a rolled over pull swing in his arsenal for EVERY SINGLE PITCH he sees.

Wait so y'all think Mchugh is going to retire?
Posted on 4/6/17 at 11:22 pm to Lsuhoohoo
FYI: Derek Fisher is 2/2 with a homer

I just think that his major league starter days may be over. Retirement may come, but I think most are saying that the end is nigh.
McHugh did have a great run with the Astros. I think we were all pleasantly surprised by the production. 43-26 with 3.71 ERA, 505 K's, 148 BB's...not bad for a 2013 waiver claim from the Rockies. Hopefully, he's not done yet.
Jabroni

Yeah, Jabroni can not afford to lose any zip. I hope it is some sort of injury that can be healed by rest. If not, he definitely was a great find for what he's already done.

Wow. Some dumbasses in here. Because it's called "dead arm?" Serious PJs.

Which one of you has me quoted in their sig? Just asking. TY.

I think people are pessimistic on McHugh because he always seemed to be a guy playing above his actual talent.
Combine that with the Astros saying all Spring, "he's fine. He is right on target to start the season in the rotation." Then suddenly he's on the DL.
Then, his little tidbit from last night:
Personally, I hope he makes it back. Dude seems like a great team mate and has worked his arse off to make it to the starting rotation of a major league club. That said, it doesn't look good.

Astros right-hander Collin McHugh exited his rehab start with Triple-A Fresno on Thursday after just one inning, per Bryant-Jon Anteola of the Fresno Bee (Twitter links). According to Anteola, McHugh threw 26 pitches in the first inning, but after a pair of warmup pitches prior to the second frame, he called for the trainer to come to the mound and was removed from the game. McHugh dealt with a dead arm during Spring Training and opened the season on the disabled list. There’s been no word from the team just yet, but Anteola notes that McHugh’s pitch count for the rehab outing was set for 85 pitches, making the early departure all the more ominous.
