La Provence isn't technically in either, but it's close.

Will never darken their door again. Went first time and they ran out of Bourbon, wine and vodka after our first round. Went back this time and ordered first drink. Ordered second drink to come with dinner (specified that) and they waited until the food was on the table to tell us they were out of liquor. Server finally confessed that both owners/managers were "out sick" and that the wait staff had pooled their personal money at the beginning of the night to go buy a couple of bottles at the grocery. He added that the restaurant was on Cash Only status with most of their suppliers.

Sorry, but for a nice night out I like a drink with dinner. Was double pissed they waited to tell me until the food was on the table knowing I wouldn't have ordered otherwise. They are circling the drain and being dishonest with me didn't help.

You would have left the restaurant knowing you couldn't get a second drink? I'm booze hound, but damn...I'm not going to let it ruin a meal. Be outa there before I normally would have, but it doesn't sound like that big of a deal.

Strange they one drinked you twice.

Del Porto is worth a look. I've been twice. First time was outstanding, world class. Second time was fairly meh, but I still recommend because the first time was really very good.

Oh, and Sticky Rice for Thai food. I think it's run/owned by the head chef of a former restauranteur that was popped for some very depraved crimes (I won't mention it in case I'm wrong). Dude went away but this guy broke off and made his own thing.

Very legit Thai food. Amazing Tom Kha.

I get the implication here. We weren't drunk. First time was with a large group. Everyone got just one drink.

Second time was on a date. I said "We are going to have a drink now and then order one with dinner." So they served the first and then served the food before telling us they were out of liquor. Pretty clear they assumed we wouldn't order if they didn't tell us. THAT is what pissed me off. I might or might not have left if they had told us before hand.

You made it sound like they ran out of liquor and wine both times after one drink...almost like they go into a one drink policy on some nights.
