So I was just awakened for the 4th time by a man living directly above me who is beating the ever-loving dogshit out of his wife or girlfriend.

It always happens from 1:00-3:00 in the morning and the girl is screaming in terror as he beats the shite out of her. I have no idea what they look like, but I do fear that she may be killed by this psychopath. He's been here for about 3 months as far as I'm aware, and I'm shakened by it (I am literally shaking typing this).

The first two times I immediately called security. I was shocked I had to do it twice. The third time I slept on it, and then directly reported it to management the next day. Now it just happened again about 30 minutes ago and I called security, although that clearly isn't doing any good. It is horrifying what I have heard upstairs, and I think he may kill her.

I thought of two things to do: call the police or confront him with a 9 iron. I'm not physically formidable, so I quickly.... He's beating her again now. I hear it. What the frick. As I was typing this he's gone back to town on her. Should I call the police now?

If serious, I'd call the popo.

I'm all for minding your own business, but sometimes you have to step in and do something.

1st - You're a Pussy

2nd - Should have called the cops the fist time this happened.

3rd - Quit living in trashy apartments

4th - I am bored and have two hours left so come back and update.

Called with an anonymous tip. I don't hear anything upstairs right now. I didn't hear her screaming, but I did hear a violent slam on the floor right above my head. It had to be due to security knocking on the door and him blaming her.

Thought our security could handle it at least the first time. Never dealt with this.

Have 2 security guards and the apartment is in Highland Park. Not all that trashy of an area.

Apartment security dgaf about anything. Their policy is "If it's bad enough to call me then you should call the police".

Good.

It's better to be safe and embarrassed for a short time than being sorry and having to live with painful regret for the rest of your life.

I don't see what there's to be embarrassed about here aside from his standpoint. He's got 2 neighbors on either side of him, to where I hope they're at least doing the same thing I am.

If this is indeed a regular habit with him, he's obviously up to no good at all with his SO or seriously injuring himself to the point where he's a legitimate danger to himself.

Either way, it warrants investigation by the local law enforcement agency.

Hope it works out and nobody has to be hurt or arrested.

Why would you need the OT for this? Not trying to be a dick but why would you hesitate to call the cops? Were you worried about retaliation or something?

It's in the back of my mind since he can clearly narrow it down to 1 of 4 apartments who ratted him out, and he's clearly a violent psychopath. Realized after making this thread I've called security enough on him where the cops wouldn't make as much of a difference.

I hope to not have an update. The cops don't know what apartment number I'm in, so I just hope I remain ignorant and never hear a beating again. I'm about to go back to bed.

Are you Joe Paterno? Call the cops. It's a crime. Jesus, people can be stupid.

All you can do is call the Police and talk to them about it.
Just know that she will most likely hate you for doing this.

How about, don't bother calling security and call police? You are going to feel great if they find her dead one day.
