Where is there a better crawfish bisque in Lafayette? Or is that for old people who've lost their taste buds?
Actually.. don't bother answering that question because your statement pretty much disqualifies your judgment.

Meh, all of the more popular restaurants in Lafayette serve about the same quality crawfish bisque. I find none of them to be that great. If you want quality, you're going to have to find someone who can actually cook and it won't be at a restaurant. So yeah, going to Don's or Fezzos or any restaurant would be for a meal that is okay to the taste buds.

brick and spoon
french press is small and will have a wait most likely, but another good option

If you want solid food in a extremely casual atmosphere, check out Saint Street Inn. An old run down college house with people that seriously know how to cook in the back.
Still good but unfortunate Ashley left

I go to the Hut regularly. Much different than the one downtown which does remind me of a nursing home.

I really like Don's crawfish bisque. I don't care how old the other folks are in the restaurant. Is the rest of the food great? Probably not, but I stick with bisque or gumbo and fried claws or fried shrimp, both of which they do very well. I also love their hushpuppies. I pick up some pints of frozen bisque to take home on occasion with some hushpuppies and the salad with house dressing which is also very good.
I haven't been to Poor Boy's Riverside Inn in some years. Is it still pretty good for what it is? The whole flounder was good.

I'm assuming you're talking about Don's Downtown. So true about the old folks, but you can't beat The two fer one Tuesday drink specials and half price apps in the bar area. The seafood bouquet is worthy of a look.

Don's or Fezzos
Fezzo's is ok. But Don's still has the best bisque in Lafayette. Just a fact.
Here's another fact Dip Jones.. Older people are very careful where they spend their money. If older people go to a restaurant and spend money, they're not spending their money at some trendy, noisy space where everyone raves over the atmosphere..

Dip should hope he lives long enough to be old. I know I do.
Actually, the last time I had lunch at Don's downtown, there were mostly business people eating there along with a few families with kids. It was a weekday close to Christmas.

My post was not a shot at old people lol. Let me rephrase. Don's is for people who haven't tasted quality seafood. I guess that's because I grew up in New Orleans where Don's is not even considered when looking for a decent seafood restaurant.

Well that and the fact that most old people are set in their ways and aren't usually open to trying new things
I could probably name 25 places I'd rather eat at in Lafayette before I'd go to Don's.

Dons downtown does have the best old fashioned in town. That's a fact.

That's a broad sweeping generalization that's not true, especially about people that like to go out to dinner.
Why don't you name 25 places in Lafayette, you'd like to go to instead of Don's? I want to see your list.
