I say this same thing all the time.
But for the single/double stack debate, it becomes "damn I left my gun at home because it's uncomfortable" versus "I had fewer rounds on me because I was carrying my single stack."
I'll always take more rounds (which is why my carry guns are chambered in 9mm) but I realize that most people won't be willing to accept the added width of a double stack when a single stack is super slim. A gun carried is better than a gun left at home.

I'm 6'3 215 so the 9c is pretty comfortable IMO, but I only holstered it IWB for a few minutes because t wasn't mine.. but it felt comfortable enough for me to know this will be the next gun I purchase (recommended by you )

You'll love the gun. It's just not my default suggestion for most people. To average people who aren't Andre the Giant, a single stack will usually fit more people.

I went to a gun range that had more shooting options. I shot a Glock 43, Glock 26, Walther PPS, Springfield XD MOD 2 w/grip zone, FNS-9 (they didn't have the compact to shoot), and M&P Shield Compact.
Although I really liked the Glock 43, I liked the 26 better. It had a more substantial feel in my hand and I'm not a big person. After shooting the Shield on more than one occasion, I've found that I don't like the trigger on it. It wasn't bad, but just felt awkward at times.
The FNS-9 was the only full size pistol that I shot, but it felt so comfortable that I had to ask if they had the 9c in stock. They had one and I bought it. I immediately shot 50 rounds through it, I had to be somewhere and didn't have time for more. Definitely don't regret the purchase. It came with 3 magazines, a 12 round flush fit, 12 round extended grip (I will probably use this for day to day carry), and a 17 round larger extended grip.
Thanks for all the info and assistance.

Was the action consistent between the 9 and 9c? Just a bit snappier, or trigger pull differences?

nice job getting the slipper in the pic btw

Thx, I took the pictures this morning and it was all I could find quickly.
As a novice, I couldn't tell much difference between the 9 and 9c except for length. I'll probably buy the larger one in the near future.

I had one that I sold last year. Damn fine pistol. It was just a hair too thick for my liking for an edc pistol so I went with the shield.

Excellent purchase. I think FN has some very underrated handguns and even did a review on my FNS9 full size a month or so ago. I run the snot out of that thing and it just keeps ticking. I'm sure you'll love your 9c for years to come.
If you think the grip texture is too aggressive, a pair of rubberized Talon Grips will fix that issue. If your hands aren't dainty and feminine like mine, the regular texture will do .

This is why I usually suggest a single stack first and then a double stack compact to put in the carry rotation.
