And some people thought Clinton was too cozy with Wall Street. I am not a Trump supporter (or Clinton) but I was hoping his "draining the swamp" promises were legit (not that I thought they were). But seems he was just full of shite.

Trump picks another Goldman banker for senior post, in sharp break from campaign bashing
quote:
President Trump on Tuesday said he planned to nominate Goldman Sachs managing director James Donovan to serve as deputy treasury secretary, selecting his fifth Goldman veteran to take a senior role in his administration.
Trump vilified Wall Street during his presidential campaign, and one of his final campaign ads included a clip that showed Goldman chief executive Lloyd Blankfein and suggested he was part of a “global power structure.”
But since the election, Trump has picked two Goldman executives and two former Goldman executives to serve in top posts. Goldman chief operating officer Gary Cohn is now the director of the White House National Economic Council and has a tremendous amount of influence on a range of issues. Goldman’s global head of impact investing, Dina Powell, is the White House’s senior counselor for economic initiatives, working on both domestic and foreign policy issues.
And Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon are both Goldman veterans, although they hadn’t worked at the firm for a number of years.
During the campaign, Trump said Wall Street was at fault for many of the problems facing the middle class, citing greed and a cozy relationship with Washington as allowing trade imbalances and corruption. He has, however, promised to roll back regulations put in place to crack down on banking practices after the financial crisis, a promise that has helped push banking stocks higher in recent months.

Good. Maybe our nation will turn a profit again.

Considering he hasn't nominated the overwhelming majority of the appointees and most of his nominations so far are for noteworthy positions, five people is significant.

I don't agree with the nominations, but even if I did it it doesn't change the fact he is a hypocrite and a liar based on his campaign rhetoric.

I don't see how these guys are helping to make america great. It seems to me that historically these guys are chiefly concerned with enriching themselves at the expense of the people. Either way, as I stated before it is disconcerting he is breaking away from his campaign platform. It is discouraging when Presidents do this. When Obama promised a transparent administration and did not come close to fulfilling that promise it was disheartening as well. We as citizens need to hold politicians accountable.

Can you name one thing any of these five appointees have done or proposed that support the WAPOs accusation and your assertion that they are only about enriching themselves? One specific thing from any of them?

Good. They can't do damage at Goldman Sachs if Trump hires them to do his work.

Sounds like they are good at what they do and that by hiring them they can't cause problems for the american people and they know how to manipulate the system and/or fix it.

A serious question. Did you really think he was going to staff is Administration with people who didn't have a track record of being highly successful?

Where exactly should the POTUS go to find people with sufficient expertise to run the treasury? The minimum wage produce clerk at Winn Dixie? The group of illegals outside my local Home Depot?
