Is it out of the realm of possibility he gets moved to strong side and Cam Jordan becomes our weak side rush end in some packages ?

doubtful. We're in deep trouble if that's the measures we have to take.

I honestly was thinking of Brian Orakpo when I saw this name and wasn't very excited.

Just realized this guy is only 26 and could very well turn into a quality starter. Much more exciting signing now.

This seems like a depth move.

Glad we're looking at adding depth in FA the past 2 years instead of just making big splash after big splash signings

Our FO is finally growing up

Orakpo would be an outstanding edge guy to add. 10.5 sacks last year. We need 2017 production, not 2021 hopes and dreams.

If he gets beat out by the competition in training camp...don't be surprised if he's cut. A post June 1 cut is only $522,511 in dead money.

As of right now, his competition is Okafor & Gwachum. Tapp should be added. I assume we bring in at least 1 more guy as well.

Another exciting thing about the new staff moves is seeing THEIR players coming in. Excited to see what Nolan can do.

Yep yep

Defense has played okay when most starters were in too. With our medical staff, we need all the help we can get.

Next guy up could actually not be awful for this team this year on defense outside of Cam and corner

I think he would play the Darryl Tapp role for the Saints in 2017.

Yep. They were pretty much forced to it last year due to not having much money to spend & a lot of holes to fill. I'm glad their mentality has evolved. They haven't made any huge mistakes over the last 2 years. The worst mistake would be Fleener, but at least he's not a complete bust. Laurinaitis & Kruger were signed for a low cost...can't really complain too much about that.

Support. I remember how much we, the fans, wanted him in the draft.

Tapp has earned a spot back in training camp imo. if okafor is cam's backup, backup weakside depth is wide open.

And nowhere more needed than in the LB'er unit.
Watching Robinson have to play all three LB'er positions at the same time was painful.

we need a WLB bad, Ellerbe has 1 yr remaining and can't seem to stay on field. That Reddick fellow may be a perfect fit. Robertson can play strongside, stupar backup. Klein play MLB, Anthony could be our backup MLB or maybe Saints trade or cut ties with him soon.

But everyone here hopes it will!

We seem to be preparing as if he won't come back right....but will be really nice if can contribute.

Does he play OLD or DE in our scheme?

If those are my 2 options, then I would have to go with DE since he's only 26
