Frazee did wind up crawling out of the gutter and profiting over $3 million after investing the $125k, so I guess it worked out well for him.

Walker for all those Vikings picks has to be the most lopsided end result of all time.

I mean, that trade jumpstarted the rebuild of the 1-15 Cowboys and was a big reason why they won 3 Super Bowls in 4 seasons.

Props to Jimmy Johnson for hitting on his picks too. That trade would not look nearly as bad for Minnesota if Jimmy didn't draft as well as he did imo

People keep saying this. At least Walker was a great player

Cowboys also pulled a deal where they traded Noodlearm Steve Walsh to the Saints "in exchange for a first, second and third round draft picks. With the third draft choice the Cowboys selected (#70-Erik Williams), the other two picks (#14-Leonard Russell and #52-Patrick Rowe) were traded to the New England Patriots as a package to move up to the number one overall draft choice to select Russell Maryland."

Throw in the fact that the Cowboys traded Clint Longley (remember him?) to SD for the pick that became Tony Dorsett, and Dallas can justifiably claim to have made the 3 greatest trades in NFL history

The Rams-Redskins had the makings of a complete heist.

But the Rams went and acted like the Rams

In their very first draft the Saints traded the #1 overall pick for Gary Cuozzo, the Colts' backup QB

However, the trade was disastrous for New Orleans, which gave away the first overall pick in the 1967 NFL draft to the Colts, who used it to select Michigan State All-American Bubba Smith, who became an All-Pro and was Baltimore's starting left defensive end in Super Bowl III and V.

Winnipeg traded Kris Draper to Detroit for a dollar and he became a key member of 4 Stanley Cups and won an Olympic Gold I believe also.

The Mets traded Nolan Ryan and three other guys to the Angels for Jim Fregosi. Can you imagine a pitching staff in the 1970s with Tom Seaver, Nolan Ryan and Jerry Koosman?

One of the worst long term was the Saints trading Bill Curry and their number one draft pick to Baltimore Colts for qb Gary Cuozzo. The Colts then used that number one pick to draft Bubba Smith.

August 5, 1976: The New Orleans Jazz traded a 1977 1st round draft pick (Kenny Carr), a 1978 1st round draft pick (Freeman Williams), a 1979 1st round draft pick (Magic Johnson) and a 1980 2nd round draft pick (Sam Worthen) to the Los Angeles Lakers for a 1977 2nd round draft pick (Essie Hollis) and a 1978 1st round draft pick (Jack Givens). This exchange was arranged as compensation for New Orleans signing veteran free agent Gail Goodrich on 19 July 1976.

in 1979-80, the Jazz finished with the worst record in the West. The Bulls finished with the worst record in the East. At the time, the two worst teams flipped a coin for the #1 overall pick. The Bulls called "heads", the flip was "tails", and the Jazz's pick became #1 overall, owed to the Lakers, who of course chose Magic Johnson

gail goodrich played one year for the Jazz, got hurt, and retired the following year

I nominate warriors with three all time bad trades
1 Celtics got 2 HOFers. previous year first round pick Parrish and with the 3rd pick in the 1980 draft McHale
Warriors got first pick in the draft. used it on Joe Barry Carrol and Ricky Brown with the 13th pick in the first round.

I saw the game between Joe Barry and Kevin McHale to decide the big ten championship. McHale worked Carrol over in the paint. jump hook in the lane with the game on the line, over and over and over.

w's win for worst franchise

have three top ten

How about the W's giving Orlando #3 pick in the draft used on Penny Hardaway and two more picks, for Chris Webber, who opted out after one season.
Penny and Shaq won. Webber is best recalled for time out for Mich with no times out remaining, handing the ball and the natty to the opponent.
first pick in the draft

warriors took some nice white guy instead of Kobe. after the sprewell choking incident

4. warriors took washed up Alton Lister instead of Shawn Kemp.

Everyone is trying to build big 3s in the NBA, and OKC purposefully dismantled possibly the best one ever assembled.

That trade is still so awesome.

It really shows you how the NFL has totally changed.

The Walker trade was made when people still thought you needed a "franchise running back."

It is still the largest trade in NFL history...and has spawned countless conspiracies - NFL wanted Cowboys relevant again.

The biggest lopsided is Elway though.

Sure, Elway wasn't going to play for the Colts but the Colts just fricking gave him away - for nothing.

Colts got:

QB Mark Hermann;
the rights to offensive tackle Chris Hinton
1st round first-round pick in the 1984 draft, which ended up being guard Ron Solt.
