I honestly want to know what those reasons are? What the end goal is?
I'm not saying these aren't problems (many of them are, and anyone with a broken Switch deserves compensation), but everyone has growing pains, every launch has problems especially as consoles become more and more technologically advanced.
It's been barely 4 days, give them a little time to respond and fix things.
But, yeah, Why?
Are you mad at people for buying the Switch, so you are trying to stop them from buying the Switch? Do you want Nintendo to fail? What gives? Why spend so much time on something that you don't have and don't seem to have any positive interest in?

The dead pixel explanation from Nintendo is hilarious. Pretty much "get over it".

The glitches with software and the system itself, I agree, it's normal launch stuff that can be addressed. It's design issues, intentional decisions made with this system that baffles me.
And I'm just embracing the Nintendo villain role.

The save data thing is not a "massive issue" and I'd trust that this is just part of rollout. For reference, you couldn't move data on the Wii either to begin (I believe you could on the WiiU). And the only reason to move data now is a broken system, which is at best, extremely rare.
Nintendo has, and probably always will be, been super sensitive about opening up the system to hacks. It is inevitable, but they keep trying to reduce the impact. Nothing wrong with that.
The joy con antenna design is certainly an issue, and it's pervasive. As long they follow through and replace joy-cons, no harm no foul.
What other intentional issues?

That's fine. Why not be a villain for all consoles?

Same here.
I will probably get a switch one day. Because I have always bought Nintendo products. Or at the least borrow one to play Zelda. But they need to work out all of this stuff.

The dock issue is pretty bad IMO. And enough for them to yank it off their site.

my first early adoption for any console ever. no regrets, but I wish it had Bluetooth, but if it doesn't have Bluetooth now, it likely won't until switch 2.0 releases in a couple of years or whatever.

this is sicboy we are talking about. He spends so much time on nintendo he doesn't have time for the others
P.S: and besides, he would have to go after the xbone, cause the ps4 is perfect

Let me point out why this happened or at least why I think this happened.
A few of us, especially sic have been skeptical because Nintendo has continually let us down lately. So we are waiting to see and pointing out Nintendo still being Nintendo.
But then the same 4 or 5 fanboys continually white knight, so it becomes funny. The justifying of flaws is funny.
With that said, "why not be a villian for all consoles?" Because for the most part Sony and Microsoft have not been stuck doing everything backwards.

is the dock too snug or not snug enough? what's the defect.
wondering if my dock is defective. it has a lot of room, definitely not as snug like I expected.

When I first heard of this issue I was still thinking user error, but yeah maybe it's bad enough. Ok, replace the docks. It's a unique design that leads to some challenges, as long as they fix it, I don't think it's an issue.
I take mine in and out of the dock constantly and still have a perfect screen without a screen protector (which is on order, all of them seem to be shipping from international locations).
There is no other single console like the Switch, and something so flexible was bound to encounter some design issues in the wild. Yes hardware and software are different, but if consoles were meant to be perfect on day 1, you'd never patch anything, ever.
I'd guess neither of you guys work in tech/software?

I wholeheartedly disagree here.

What other intentional issues?
-Dock design (hopefully that's getting fixed since it got pulled form the store)
-Smart phone app for any kind of messaging (as brought up in the friends list link)
-Placement of the USB charge port.
-The almost impossible task of removing the grips from the joycons.
-The kickstand, which has been proven over and over to be unreliable if you're not in a NASA controlled environment. This isn't anything, but I did see a funny article of someone complaining about the horrible sound the kickstand makes when you retract/detract. Sounds like plastic breaking every time. Sort of a satirical complaint.
-The system underperforming while being docked. Again, points to them really pushing for this to be a portable device, and I get that's a big draw for a lot of gamers, but I have never been big on portable gaming, and if I'm going to be short changed by playing my preferred way, I'll just eventually play zelda on the Wii U, because it will be the same thing.
-And for a portable device, it just doesn't seem that durable (scratched screens and joycon wiggles as evidence, the latter showing in that video oauron posted).
-The one joycon with the analog in the middle........i just can't see that being fun, especially with the controller being as small as it is, but I haven't personally played with it. My friend bought one so maybe I can go play around with his this weekend.

People are reporting some of the docs shipped are bent slightly. This is causing scratches on the screen. It is not every product, so who knows where the issue is coming from. But they pulled it off their site.

just go buy a switch and play Zelda and put this chapter of your life behind you.
Posted on 3/7/17 at 9:54 am to Mystery
the tablet and the joycons feel like actual expensive tech, the joypad and dock are definitely plastic toy Nintendo.
the joypad does exactly what it needs to not one complaint I love it, but the dock is not as snug, but I guess that's a good thing. maybe add some padding or something for protection anyway and the added benefit of a more snug fit

How did they let you down? By simply not making Generic Console #3?

I don't think anyone has argued against that. Nintendo being Nintendo is specifically why they create stuff like Breath of the Wild. It's also specifically why they make boneheaded decisions like save game backup and friend codes. It is what it is.

The justifying of flaws is funny.
Are there extreme people on both sides, those who are overly critical and those who are probably too forgiving, yes.
Flaws shouldn't be justified, but it's been 4 days of a launch, you can't even ship a replacement in that time.
I agree the pixel remark is problematic, if they hold that line, that's not right.

I see we've all given up the DLC/Exclusive Content fight. And sadly Nintendo has too. You guys won that one with Nintendo capitulating.
Let's repeat this: Nintendo is NOT, and has not, tried to be just like Microsoft and Sony. They've specifically made decisions that directly oppose those ideals. If you like the way Sony and Microsoft run their businesses, awesome. That's one way to do it and be successful. Make some threads about "Awesome decision Microsoft made today!"
I said it in another thread, people aren't necessarily defending dumb decisions, Nintendo makes a lot of dumb decisions, but if the result is Breath of the Wild, Splatoon and Mario Kart 8, it's tough NOT to just go along for the ride.
And I'll repeat this, regardless of the "success" the Wii U had the best First and Second Party library since the SNES. And it had a ton of new ideas. It's kind of sad how it ended up.

This is just not true. I love how you guys continue to say this. How in the heck does making a top game of all time relate to all the other dumb decisions they make?
Fact: Zelda could have been made on any current console and it would still be great.
Nothing about all the problems we have pointed out has to do with why the game is great.
