We are just starting to plan our honeymoon this summer and looking for some recommendations. Tentatively we are thinking:

Fly into Rome for 3 days 2 nights. We will be attending a mass at the Vatican where the pope will bless our marriage on day 2.

3 hour train to the Amalfi Coast, 5 days 5 nights

This is where I'm having troubles.
We will then fly to The South of France where we will have 7 more days and nights. Provence is a must for the lavender bloom. Then we want to relax in the wine regions for a few days before going to Paris To fly home. Here are two options:

Provence > Burgundy > Paris
Provence > Bordeaux > Champagne > Paris

I'm thinking option 1 because of it being less traveling and I don't want to be rushed during the last week of our trip.

Again, nothing is booked just trying to lock in our itenerary.

What type of wines do you like? Wine touring in Europe is not quite like touring in say Napa (although it can be in some locales)

Why not just stay in Italy? Plenty of excellent wines to sample, you can take it easy & make a leisurely tour of various regions.
