Racism or White Privilege: you make the call.

My wife, (white woman, sorry no pics) bought a Whole Foods dietary supplement recently. After consulting with her MD, who didn't think it was needed, she decided to return it since it was quite expensive ($96).
She went back to WF to return the unopened product and was helped by an African American woman. She was told that she could not return the product.
Not being one who gives up easily, she decided to try to return it again. On the second attempt she was helped by a Caucasian woman who returned the product no questions asked and credited her credit card the full purchase price.
Is this an example of Racism or White privilege?

Neither.
One of the nice ladies that helped your ugly wife(assuming since no pics) probably didn't know the store policy on those types of items.

it's to my understanding that Whole Foods will let you return anything, no questions asked.

I tried to return unopened otc medicine to a pharmacy and they wouldn't take it. said it was law. My wife returned some unopened prescription medicine yesterday. I don't know the races of the people involved.

Ask manager what the policy is.... if the black one didnt follow it then report her dumb arse.

Considering that the Whole Foods policy on unopened merchandise is a blanket accept no questions asked, this is difficult to believe unless you wish to assume extreme incompetence.
