Every time I see a Freemason license plate a black guy is driving the vehicle.

Link?
Just google, go to a verifiable source, and you'll find a plethora of children helped by the Shrine.

Not only does the family not have to pay a single penny, we even pay for the child's transportation to/from the hospital. We also do our absolute best to help the family with things like apartments near the hospitals, moving expenses, etc.
Do you have any idea what a chartered medical flight for a intensive care child cost?

Lapsed Mason here. I need to unlapse myself. After my youngest son was born I haven't put the time into going to Lodge like I should. I have been feeling the urge to go back lately.

Danny Thomas was a Shriner as well. One of the best children's hospitals in the world.

Didn't know Danny Thomas was a Mason.
Is there conflict between Masonic teaching and Cathoic/Christian teaching/beliefs?

What do y'all learn about Chi Phi? "First sons" ring a bell?
Not sure what you're getting at. To my knowledge Chi Phi is a collegiate fraternity and "first sons" has no significance to me.

I don't know about what goes on in Masonic lodges or their teachings, but Catholicism and Orthodoxy prohibit Masonic association.

Also, Medinah Country Club is a Shriners Club. It is a home of many US Opens, Ryder Cups, PGA, US Amateur, etc.

Aren't the Masons some of the most racist people alive?
25 year mason here.
Most definitely not. The black people have their own version called Prince Hall Masons. Their's is a close knit group that has shown little desire to integrate with the "white" version. Some states in the north east has joined together last I heard.
I haven't attended lodge in a long time but the last white guy I heard that was adamantly against having a black man in our lodge is long been dead. I'm glad he didn't know my blood lines. He would never have let me in.
They are just a fraternal organization that exists to help people. They may go the extra mile to help their own but if they are following the tenants of the organization they won't do so at the expense of a good person. Get over it.

I'm not Catholic, so I can't speak with great authority on their specific teachings; but the short answer to your question is no. I have sat in lodge with many Catholic masons and there is nothing in our teachings or rituals that is negative towards any religion.
The long answer explaining the schism between the two organizations has to do with history: the Catholic Church, Frances's debt, Church debt, and the eventual assimilation of the Knights Templar into the Lodges of Scotland/England (the English church not having good relations with the Catholic Church is a big contributor).
Lots of interesting history there. But nothing negative or preventive from the Masonic side these days.

What does it take to be a Mason?
You must believe in God. You will be checked out to be sure you are a good person. Then begins the process to become a mason.

grandfather was a Mason and a Shriner. They are the same organization I believe.
The Shrine is an independently operated organization; however it is an apendant body in that you are required to be a Master Mason before you can become a Shriner. (All Shriners are masons, not all masons are Shriners.)
