Surprising considering how liberal Brad Pitt is

I dont think that was a criticism. It showed the primacy of political power. In my opinion it showed how relatively powerful a figure President Obama was versus the main character. And the background narration emphasized that point. It also drove home the point why the character had been selected for command of forces in Afghanistan. He was not there to win, but to clean up the mess.

watched a bit last night and turned it off

i'm finishing it this morning. they're really going out of their way to make Pitt's character look like a goddamn moron/goofball. the movie seems to go out of its way to make discipline, routine, and effort come off as negative

the narration was terrible to start off the movie. came off as terrible, low-quality, and preachy

I didn't really care for it and I wanted to like it. Also, that 35yo full bird colonel just irritated me. At least cast the correct age range.

So the movie is base on a rolling stone guy, the same guy who wrote that article that said the General was drinking all over europe, yet he make this movie as if he know how the General was really like?

Does that mean he wrote that hit piece on purpose?
