Sounds like you are here to talk about crossfit
Yes... I am on a message board and in a thread about a subject that I have interest in.
I'm confused why I wouldn't want to participate in the thread.
It sounds like you are here to talk about a subject that you are not interested in... Huh??
I see lots of threads on TD that I have no interest in... I typically don't view them and never comment on them.

OP, why didn't you post this on the MSB? Hmmm?

BC the OT is where the #gainz threads are posted.

Watch a few Kstar vids, pass a couple of xfit certs, maybe go to a USA oly cert, butcher someone else's program, d3&t, and whamo they're a coach that people are trusting.
Now that I will agree with you on and I think is an issue. I've seen it first hand coaches coming in with no exercise background or experience but smart enough to take a test.
However, crossfit in itself is not anymore dangerous that the many other sports that are out there. If performed correctly one can see life changing results.

Yeah but being pushed for time doesn't help things either.
You know what I'm trying to say. If CrossFit is your thing than I'm all for it ... But I agree with others that it's a very easy way to find yourself in the OR.

I've said this before but I know one girl who was obese before CrossFit and she is still obese to this day. And she's hardcore into it. But I also see other people who look pretty amazing.
And she prob eats like a pig. You can't out train that with any fitness concept

True, no matter what kind of training you do

Back to the original point of this thread - has anyone done 17.1 yet?

brb going do it now.
Ok I'm back, decided to push heavy weight and actually get big/strong instead

Hit the time cap but got fairly close to finishing RX... got the 50 snatches plus 2 burpee box jump overs (212). It was a grind. Curious to see how it ranks with the over 40 group.

I regret that I have only 1 upvote to give

I'm doing it Monday.
Helped my dad get a bunch of stuff for his ongoing flood renovation earlier today: 1400lbs of tile, 9 new doors, etc..
..and I'm nursing a tight groin issue that I plan on getting needled tonight.

You would think that posting all those same gifs in every crossfit thread would get old. But it doesn't, they are great, every single time.

not with light weight
True. Do light weight with bad technique and be average forever.

How can you judge this man without a proper knuckles check. A man's knuckles is what makes him.

I'm in my 40's and I started CrossFit about 5 months ago because I wanted to try something that I enjoyed more than a gym or running. So far I've been very pleased with my results and the variety of exercises that we do.
I don't have any aspirations to make the CrossFit games and I don't really even push too hard on the workouts. I use it to maintain my flexibility and overall strength. I can see it as something that I will do for a long time.
I did sign up for the CF Open this year as part of a group workout with my gym. I'm looking forward to going through the workouts with my friends over the next 5 weeks and then we will probably have a crawfish boil at the end. Sounded like a fun experience.
Anyone who downvotes this dude is just an internet pussy
