re: Rockets acquire Lou Williams from Lakers for Corey Brewer

Pick is good for the lakers. Rebuilding team gets a player dirt cheap for a few years. For CC they don't necessarily want the pick bc if you sign the guy it's a guaranteed money deal. If CC has their eye on a guy at that spot they can move for him early in the second rd and not have to guarantee the deal.

Some other positives of this trade for Houston:
The first round pick they gave up was the 27th pick. Their two 2nd round picks they have this year will most likely be in the 30's which makes their late first more expendable.
This trade gave them an extra $2 million in cap space for this summer.
Williams is a great value at only $7 million per year. His contract would be very easy to move to open up more cap room in the summer.
Great move from a front office standpoint to get rid of Brewer's contract and replace with a great value contract and a much better player.

A solid move for the Rox no doubt.
But they still won't have an answer for the Pels. CC lucky they won't meet them this year in the playoffs. Rox would last five, maybe six if Erin Gordon gets hot. Pels probably host Rockets in the 3-6 matchup next year tho. Will be a solid test for the twin towers.

What is your obsession with calling them "CC"??? When was the last time they did anything remotely close to clutch?
Pretty sure 10 years ago in the playoffs when they were up 2-0 as the road team to the Mavs & proceeded to lose their next 3 home games and the series.
One of literally a handful of teams to do so. #ChokeCity, indeed

They got rid of Corey Brewer. That's exactly what they needed.
Adding a pretty good player who has another year on his contract is gravy.
This.

10 years is mos def recent history by Boom standards

GSW last year prob the best team in nba history if not for injuries in the playoffs... And they are better this year. nobody is beating them without an injury. If they have one (or more) CC will be ready to take advantage.

Almost as funny as OKC having a minus point differential 70% through the season.

What's amazing is they predicted your comment to a 't' before you ever even made it.
That's who you are on this board.

yea stating the obvious is funny. Especially when I saw his post before I made mine. But still not as funny as your team being outscored on the season after the all star break.

As soon as he signed with a winning organIzation we see his value. 6th man of the year on a top 3 seed.
Laughed at his contract at first, not laughing anymore

(insert my Hahaha boom talk here)
Then he goes on and says something like
"no chan, stay on topic. CC been doing moves like this forever, that's why in my lifetime we've had the least losing seasons. It's a cc thing, we get good players for pennies on the dollar while you go after a center with no leadership and has no playoffs in his career. Lololol"

An unsurprising swing and a miss from you. Par for the course.
