To put into context the absolute obstruction of this administration by Dems

Chuck Schumer has voted no on almost every nominee, including Elaine Chao, who has served in two previous administrations where she was unanimously confirmed and does not have one controversial bone in her body. It's unprecedented obstruction.

ya gotta be kidding me. Do some of yall have some sort of memory loss of the last 8 years?

Wow this is definitely unprecedented in the history of our democracy! I can't think of a single time when a legislature controlled by opposing party was obstructionist

Republicans actually confirmed 8 of Obama's nominees on day 1. When Trump took office, he had 2. Were almost a month into this Presidency and there are still people who haven't been confirmed. The Senate Democratic leader voted no on fricking Elaine Chao. Yes this is unprecedented.

Sounds like Chao is part of the Establishment swamp that needs to be drained.

It's not unprecedented, so calm down. In fact, I think Trump has more confirmed at this point than Obama did in 2008.

Trump has certainly had more people quit under him than obama lol

1. Trump, unlike Obama, has appointed a few totally unqualified people. Unqualified people take longer to approve.
2. Several of Trump's nominees have still not been cleared by the Ethics Panel. No votes should be held on anyone not completely vetted by the Ethic Panel. A couple of Trump's White House people had to be let go yesterday as their background checks came in unfavorably.
3. Nothing and I repeat nothing will outdo (in obstructionism) what the Republicans did to Merritt Garland last year.
4. Trump is a minority vote POTUS who couldn't even get more votes of Americans than ethics-plagued Hillary Clinton. He does not have strong support of the public at large.

It is a well documented tradition NOT to approve supreme court nominees in the last year of an administration. Been happening for a while and should.

When did a USSC nominee NOT even get a hearing much less a vote after being nominated?

Oh lawd
You need to do a bit more research brother. Try going a bit further back than 2016.

Only when the other party does it!

Fair enough. My mistake as I misheard something on the radio at lunch.
He's 4 behind Obama at this same point in 2009.

Meh, you Dums were absolutely certain that Hillary was going to win the presidency. Two weeks before the election you even bragged that the election is over and Hillary is going to win in a landslide.
Because the Dums were sooooo sure Hillary was going to win they shoved Garland down our throats telling us that we had better approve him before the election because after the election Hillary would pick an even more left leaning candidate.
So frick you if the Repubs refusing to vote on Garland pisses you off.

Maybe so. But didn't Obama get moat of his cabinet (including the tax cheat Geitner) voted in? And, didn't that happen fairly quickly?
Posted on 2/17/17 at 3:01 pm to GeorgeWest
Wow your memory is so short. Hell they invoked the aptly names Joe Biden rule on him.

The Dems have actually put up a better fight than I expected, given their depleted numbers.
