Yes. Do you have an engineering degree?

If you have experience, yes. If not, no.

Every business is in sales to some degree.
In business, do something for 30 minutes every day that makes you uncomfortable. You'll learn how to adapt and actually get good at it - providing you are willing to put in the time, take constructive criticism well and have a goal in mind.
Cold calling is the least expensive but most effective way for a business to generate leads that ultimately convert into sales.

Yea cause I can tell the pump salesmen love coming to our plant. Driving an hour or so, stopping to get $100 worth of boudin or chik fil a only to be bitched out by some engineer who can't read a pump sheet or a vibration report and expects the salesman to know every tolerance of every pump we have on site.
One vendor told me if he ever met my colleague outside the turnstile he would whoop his mutha fuggin arse.

I don't know how you do it. Man the worst is when a vendor does a lunch and learn and everybody grabs something to eat and don't even bother to listen to the presentation. Especially the mechanics them baws will walk right in the middle of the presentation stack a plate full of food and walk out. Zero frick were not considered let alone given. The savagery is on a whole 'nother level. I just sit there take notes and try to ask some softball questions so the vendors don't fell like shite.

Can't tell you the company but I work for a distributor in the pump world and I'm quite familiar with the following statement.
That's if your lucky enough to not have your appointment rescheduled without notice. My customers are the smartest dumbasses on the planet.
