According to this post on LA Times.

Beyoncé's Grammy snub and the glass ceiling on black art

The author is getting lit up in the comments. Torn between being glad that I see a rising tide of pushing back on this, and wanting them to just keep digging their hole.

Ella Fitzgerald won a Grammy way back in the racial dark ages of 1958.

At a certain point, the Academy needs to just tell some of these people to frick off and stop giving them awards.

Beyonce was incredible as Etta James in Cadillac Records. It is a monumental accomplishment in poor management and song selection to bury that talent under the bland music she sings. She isn't R&B, she is soulless bubblegum pop.

To play Devil's advocate; I certainly don't get the authority to mumble words, make up phrases, auto tune the shite out of my voice, say "ni**a" in every sentence, steal beats, and talk about killing other members of my neighborhood- and have it called art.

We're at a day in age where If a minority group, of any kind, doesn't get their way; it's labeled racism in one way or another.

Most white people understand that Adele's music is more appealing to the voting bloc than Beyonce's music is. If Adele wants Beyonce to win, maybe Adele should make crappier music or convince Beyonce to make music that appeals to the voters.

Per the article she cut her Grammy in half and gave Beyoncé half of it, and in her acceptance speech she said that Beyoncé's album should have won the award and not hers.

Will Adele be nominated for a BET Award?

if so, what are her chances of winning? Is it racist if she doesn't get it?

First Album to Sell More Than 3 Million Copies in a Week: Then 25 went on to become the second album to ever pass two million copies sold in a single week -- after *NSYNC’s No Strings Attached -- and the first to sell more than three million in a week.

Most Records Sold in a Single Week: With 3.38 million copies sold in the U.S. in the first week, Adele beat *NSYNC’s previous single-week sales record from 2000 by nearly a million copies. Oh, and she did it in just three days.

Best First-Week Sales for a Female Artist: Naturally, seeing as she broke the single-week sales record for both men and women. But it’s notable because Britney Spears held the record for the past 15 years, ever since Oops…I Did It Again sold 1.3 million copies in 2000. (When Adele was informed of this fact by NPR, she simply said, “Britney is the queen.”)

First Single to Sell 1 Million Copies in a Week: Before 25 broke any records, Adele’s first single, “Hello,” set the precedent, becoming the first track to be downloaded more than one million times in one week. That is nearly twice as many as the previous record holder: Flo Rida’s “Right Round.”

The Best-Selling Album of 2015: When you break that many records, there’s no way you don’t end up with the biggest album of 2015. In fact, it’s been a landslide: Adele’s 25 sold more copies in one week than the other best-selling album, Taylor Swift’s 1989, sold all year (1.8 million).

I don't think commercial performance is a completely valid indicator of quality, but Adele sold 3.4 million albums in US in the FIRST WEEK alone.

Beyonce's sold less than half of that in 9 months.

So when you have two albums that are well recieved critically, and one has historical commercial reception, then maybe there is something (anything) other than racism that led to her win.

I don't know, but I did read something yesterday(and it may be referenced in the article referenced here) that a black artist has won the Best Album award only a few times, despite many nominations. I think it was widely assumed this year Beyonce's album would win it. Based on that, I think it might be fair to question if the award process may be prejudiced towards black artists.

So they are now turning on the award shows that these retards use to further their agendas?

They are starting to eat their own.

Ok, now do the Best Album category. It's the most prestigious one given at the Grammy's, and the one the artists covet the most.

I'm not saying the Grammy's are racist or prejudiced. But with those numbers you listed, I think it's a fair question when so few black artists have won album of the year.

Oh and add to that she holds the record for fastest time for a YouTube clip to reach one billion views (PSY needed 159 days for "Gangnam Style"; Adele needed only 88 for "Hello").

And of her first five Grammy nominations she won only two, but since then she's 13 for 13 in wins.
