I'm looking to reserve a room in a plantation-style B&B for Valentine's Day ....somewhere in Louisiana.

Does anyone have any personal experiences or suggestions for the plethora of options out there?

Thanks in advance.

Good suggestions thus far...

We live in NO, so I'd like it to be away from the city.

And I love the Oak Alley idea, but they don't do a dinner or run many packages.

Actually, I was surprised. Availability doesn't seem to be a problem for the places I've checked out.

Green Wood Plantation or something like that in St. Francisville is great.

Butler Greenwood? TigerBabe and I shacked for a night in the Dovecote just because...

We enjoyed it, except for the mother f&#(ing peacock yelling all night.

Oh, and read the guest book BEFORE you touch anything....freaky arse people.

Seriously, we enjoyed it.

ETA: It was nice because all of the rooms are separate little cottages.

Nottoway Plantation, honeymoon suite.

Stayed there on way back from Honeymoon 100 years ago. Food was great. I think the sex was too!

I second this idea. My husband and I actually got engaged a few years ago while staying in the honeymoon suite. We had a great time and the food there is amazing. You also have your own private pool and jacuzzi bath in the honeymoon suite.

A third vote for Nottaway. Had the master suite and it was great to imagine owning the place. They have these really good sweet potato muffins for breakfast that really went well with champagne and they deliver them to the room. Later you go downstairs for breakfast. I just wish that we had gotten there earlier as I took my wife to dinner and a show first.
