42 is certainly amazing.
He already has 9 at 23yo. He has won 8.4% of his starts, and plays a little over 25 tournaments per year. 42 will be tough af, but I think he gets it. And it'd be an unbelievably impressive 42.

He'll not get 42, way too much up and coming talent, plus he'll start playing a limited schedule to focus on the majors.

Spieth won't even get to Phil's mark of 42.
Man.. his career would have to fall off for him not to reach 42 given what we have seen. Average 1.5 wins a year the next 20 years? Yea. Very doable for him.

Apparently some people still think he's just the flavor of the month he's been on tour for 4 years and has been one of the best/most consistent players since he came in. I don't get it. He could easily have 4 majors right now

I don't think Spieth has the raw talent and instinct Tiger had, but he could make up for it in longevity and durability.
I think he finishes with something like 8 majors and 55 wins though.

When that dude has the putter rolling, look out. I think he has multiple 2015 type seasons in him.

Tiger won 28 of his first 100 tournaments. Jordan 9.
But here's hoping!!!

His wedge/iron play is almost always exceptional. Straight drives, solid irons, and even just solid putting will win him a lot of tournaments.
His biggest flaw right now is his driving. Crept up again today. It's still inconsistent. Just poke that thing out in the fairway and iron in.

I mean, he already does pretty well in the majors with his schedule right now.
Cutting back on travel this offseason and working on his game was really smart.

Absolutely. He was wiped last year after his world tour and it showed.

I agree about Speith not having the raw talent that Tiger did. He doesn't hit the ball like Tiger did. But Speith's short game is as good as anyone ever when he's going good. When he's on, he makes about 90% of his putts from within 10 feet. But it's just hard to do that all the time.

He has plenty things he can improve as well. One thing that sorta confuses me is how he has trouble controlling spin with his short irons and wedges.

His swing is much more sustainable
Highly doubt he breaks down like a Tiger did

Speith slow play should be penalized. He is a bad example.
Plus i watched every PGA event Tiger played. I don't think Speith draws the crowd like Tiger did

But at what age was Spieth first on Johnny Carson?

Not even close..... the golf world had never seen anything like Tiger before when he came along.......
