where are the tire marks in the grass?
They are to the right of the area pictured. I was in a line of traffic and could not see the area until I got to the intersection. Signs were down too where

When I was at LSU, a guy committed suicide by blowing through that stop sign and ramping up the levee at over 100 mph.
My first thought. Another suicide? I would think driving 100mph into a concrete overpass embankment would be more sudden and painless. So much could go wrong with that Brightside Bolt over the levee.

But there's no glory in that.

How fast was he going to make it over the levee?
Posted on 2/6/17 at 9:28 am to OysterPoBoy
Yea the ONLY reason to commit suicide by ramping up a levee at 100 mph is the brief, but exhilarating, moment of flying through the air....free as a mother fricking eagle!

Did it happen today or did they do it last night and have been trapped the entire time?

It's a sad day for the O'Doyle family. The cause has been determined that they actually tried to stop but due to someone senselessly throwing their breakfast banana peel out of the window, we are not down several members.
As always...O'Doyle rules!

While I've never jumped a levee on accident.
I can tell you a 1980s chevette will climb a wet levee on slicks at less than 20.

Thanks, I was wondering what happened myself. Passed through that area when the firetrucks were coming. Posted it on Waze.

have we gotten confirmation that it was a Falcons fan?
Posted on 2/6/17 at 10:00 am to sgallo3
Thank God he did not hit any cross traffic

I'd bet everything that LSUPD was on the scene within seconds of the call. Those frickers will go anywhere within miles of campus for an interestimg call.

It was early one morning during summer session, sometime around 2002 or 3. He lit up that levee; there were track marks alllll the way up to the top until he ran out of real estate. Vaya Con Dios, Estudiante!
frick that guy. I lived in Lake Beau Pre then and drove past that intersection going down river road a couple minutes after he did that. If I had left two minutes earlier I'd be dead now.
One of my friends was a volunteer firefighter and tried to render aid. The river was super high then so his car landed in the water. He actually hung on for a few days in the hospital and then died.

It was almost exactly 10 years ago to the day.
He was in a fraternity at LSU, but had recently graduated.
