Do you think Celebrities should be role models for kids?

I personally don't. They are entertainers and nothing more. They should abide by laws like anyone else but any other personal vices and morality flaws they may have don't bother me. I think you are a lazy parent if you expect celebs to set a good model for kids.

Why anyone would worship a celebrity is beyond me...but we just elected one so there you have it. WElcome to MOJOworld.

Absolutely not. America has an unprecedented fascination and obsession with celebrities. For some unknown reason, the majority tend to gravitate towards shitty ones (Miley Cyrus, Kardashian, Kanye West, and so forth).

No.
Clowns are there to dance for Scruffy's entertainment.
Nothing more.

No, but then understand it may effect sales and such.

This. The worst is when you see parents and their kids trying to get autographs from famous people.

Should they be? NO
But they are. Sport stars have huge influences on kids. Pop stars, actors, all of them too

No. But on the flip side the characters they play can make huge differences in children's lives. See all the work done by actors like Johnny depp, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, etc. at children's hospitals. They care about the characters not the actors.

Celebrities more often than not have achieved the highest level of their chosen profession.
Whereas your kids parents are middle management at best .
I guess you want your kids to fail like you have

Depends on the celebrity. If you're talking about someone like Johnny manziel or Phil Robertson then frick no. But I have no problem with my daughter looking up to Michelle obama and beyonce because they actually have a positive impact on society

I think every adult should strive to be a role model for kids.
Should my kids choose celebrities as their role models? Well, they are successful, which is nice. I'd hope I was one for them as well, but some celebrities I would say are solid contenders.

Celebrities are better than regular people. Why wouldn't you want your kids to try and be better than regular people?

Of course not. They may have admirable traits or habits that can be pointed out but no more. For example, the hard work, determination and dedication that SOME athletes have to achieve what they have. I don't care for Tiger Woods, but as a middle handicapper who has worked to get there, I can only imagine the hours he has put into practice. BUT he is a scum who apparently treats people poorly...
The other thing parents should not be is good friends with their children. They HAVE friends and can get more, but YOU are a parent and need to act like one. Their freinds will very rarely act in the parental role so you should only rarely act in the friend role. You can be their friends after college.
Anything else?

NO.

Tiger Woods was a role model for me. Kids don't give a shite about the stuff your cynical, miserable adult mind concerns itself with. He was the best in his profession and worked his arse off. I respected the hell out of that as a teenager.

What a dumbass. So because they are good at their job they should be looked up to? What about OJ, Hugh grant picking up street walkers, the drug habits of many actors like Charlie sheen. Just because they're good at something doesn't make them good people.
