I leave my Celebrity plants alone since they're a semi-determinate. I pinch only the lower suckers on everything else. I'll let some suckers grow then pinch off and soak in water to grow new roots and replant.

damn moles have trails all over the garden
I have a bad mole problem all over my lawn, including my garden. I'm slowly killing them. The other day I was resting with a beer after working in the yard and looked down to see the ground heaving. Grabbed the shovel and speared that little bastard in half. I've also used smoke bombs, poison worms, and traps. Not sure what works best, but the mole problem seems to be lessening.

Slugs are notorious for partying.
They aren't picky either - the cheapest beer will work.

Any recommendations on a fertilizer to speed things up?

Caterpillars wrecked my garden a few years back. Left town for a few days and came back and everything was gone. I've found the only good defense without chemicals is number of plants. Any organic treatment other than numbers is worthless, IMO. Soap, bugs, etc did nothing for me.

Alright, next question from noob: How do I hand pollinate zucchini?
I have three plants under a holly tree and all the bees and bugs pass the zucchini and go straight to the holly bush.

How's everyone's garden doing?
Here's my update.
This was on 3/29/17
This is today 4/20/17
Some of the produce in the works:
Romas
Blue Lake Stringless
Pickling cucumbers
Creole tomatoes
And a bonus. Last Halloween I threw the pumpkin guts from my carvings in the woods behind my house. Now they're having babies.

That's cool. Your garden looks great.
My sweet Italian "Carmen" peppers are LOADED and I have started picking. Also picking snap beans and sugar snap peas. Butternut squash have small squash on them. Tomatoes are just starting to bloom, but I am about 10 mi. north of I-10 in Florida and the nights are still in the upper 50's and lower 60's. Blueberries are loaded and probably have another month before picking.

The only thing that's lagging is my watermelon. But it seems to be picking up speed. It's behind the trellis.
I'm going to plant some of those carmens next year. Heck, if my garden expansion trend continues, I'm gonna run out of yard. Cause next year my wife wants to do blackberries, cantaloupe, and a whole bunch of herbs, onions, and garlic.
I might have to hire help!

Had to replant peas because of mole crickets. They're all coming up good now. (7 rows 80' long).
10 tomatoes putting on blooms and small fruit, 12 squash already loaded, 5 banana peppers blooming.
'Lectric fence doing the job - not one deer track.

Here's my first time garden. I built two 4x12 beds and did 3 tomatoe plants in buckets. I almost instantly wished I would have gone bigger. I own the lot next to my house and will probably go larger next year and go straight into the ground.

You'll be wishing you'd put those tomatoes in something larger in a month or so. Hard to keep them watered in buckets that size without drip.

so making a self watering system out of those buckets would solve the problem right?

Going to finally get mine in the ground this weekend. At least what I have grown from seeds so far.
Anyone tried to grow Collards? I bought a pack of seeds when I was buying and nothing popped up. Well, maybe 1 of the 6 I planted, but it died off quickly. I've got watermelon, corn, peas, beans, squash, I think Cukes, and tomatoes ready to plant. Once I have my 72 spot seed starter cleared out, I'm going to refill it and the second one I bought to plant even more in a few weeks.

Too hot for collards now. Try in the fall.
