I'm on the national do not call list I have been asked to be removed from their list. This is the equivalent of pop up ads in the early 2000's. Has anyone found a solution to this BS??

Caller Id and don't answer any number you don't recognize.

Ask them for their home number, and tell them you will call them later at your convenience.

It has really ramped up over the last 2 months. I get at least 2-3 calls a day now.

It's the new "Rachel" from card services - "Jason" with vehicle warranty division.

Illegal and therefore a scam.

I don't get 2-3/day but yes I've been getting so many more since January 1. Got one today from Delaware. They come from all over the country.

If it's a live person calling I tell them I just bought a vehicle warranty "this morning." It seems to reduce the number of those type calls.

If it's a robocall, don't push any of the buttons they give you on the menu, not even the "take me off this call list" button. Just hang up.

One scam is they claim later that you pushed the "I want to buy" button rather than the "take me off the list" button and they send you an invoice.

ETA: And then block their number which is only a temporary fix because they change their calling number.

ETA2: Also, whatever you do, if you get a robocall that sounds like a real person and the recording starts the call with "Can you hear me okay?" DON'T SAY "YES"!

One scam is they record your "yes" response and put it in a response recording where they substitute the question, "Do you want to buy our (product, service, etc.)?"

And it makes it sound like you said "yes" to their "do you want to buy" sales question.

fricking criminals!

Wrong board, but I get a lot of calls from non-profits that want money. Retired veterans, breast cancer survivers, etc.

If you have AT&T you can download an app called "Call Protect" published by AT&T.

LINK

It basically crowd-sources spammer numbers and automatically block them if they try to call you.

Same shite happens to me.

Every time I get a vehicle warranty call I put that number on block.

I have about 6 of those numbers on block and the calls have slowed down. I've only received one call today. At one point it seemed like I was receiving 4 to 5 a day.
