Used to know a guy at my old job that spent his lunch breaks parked in the grocery store parking lot down the street killing a six pack. It was sort of a dry, boring office setting. Poor guy also was late twenties with two kids and a fat wife living in Austin. I'm sure he was depressed. He was a fairly good looking guy that, at that age, could've prob been killing it on Rainey Street every weekend. I'm guessing the wife just got fat after the kids and said f*** it.

Every morning I walk out my back door, reach into my drink refrigerator and go to grab a beer, call a last second audible and get a water instead. One of these days I'll go with the original play and grab a beer

..and that's what "random" drug tests are for.
It's a great policy.

I realized my buddy might be an alcoholic when he took me to a dingy liquor store and he obviously knew the owner well and said

"where the duck were you this morning. I came by at my usual time and you weren't here?"

"On saturdays, we don't open till 9AM."

Yes, he was employed

Coffee not quite getting the job done, huh? A bourbon or scotch to start the morning? That sounds fricking awful.

That's what Hennigan's is for. The no-tell, no-smell scotch.

I feel like this was more acceptable when men were men.

My grandfather used to do this, but then he died in his early 70s from a failed liver.

I used to see residents stop in to Ms Maes for a shot of vodka or whiskey before heading into work at University Hospital at like 5am

I restrict my AM drinking to 4 occasions.

1. Prior to any fishing trip.
2. Any Auburn football (or any football) game tailgate
3. Christmas morning. Gotta have a little champagne or mimosa.
4. Vacation. Then any time is fair game.

One of my commanding officers kept a fifth on his shelf that would be replaced every couple weeks.

Maybe if you're a server who works at night or something. Although some days a screwdriver would be nice to start my day.
