Concealed carry application questions

"Application with the 3 affidavits completed and notarized."
Can someone please explain this part to me.
Let me preface this by saying that I am an amateur with firearms. I want to conceal carry, but I live in Louisiana so I need to get the license.
I also need to prove competentcy with a firearm. I'm not sure where to take the test. Is there someone I can talk to about all of this.

You're trolling two boards with this shite?

I can't help you. I live in Alabama where all we need to get a permit is a clean criminal record, picture ID, and a pulse.
Which reminds me I need to get mine renewed soon.

Don't know what you're doing with a gun so you want to tote it around with you all the time.
Makes sense.

Pretty sure they're talking about the papers from your physician, etc.
I remember having to get those things notarized.
Where'd you take your class?

I have not taken any classes. I am planning on it. I just want to carry a gun for self defense against the KKK, radical terrorism, and thugs.

Concealed carry class
You have to take a concealed carry course. 9.5 hours.
And if you are unfamiliar with firearms, handguns in particular I suggest more training beyond what is required. I see a lot of people carrying that have no business doing so.

Racist.
Thug is not the preferred nomenclature.

Honest advice if this isn't a troll. Just take a concealed carry class (you have to in order to get a license). I would not carry unless you are extremely comfortable with a gun. And not just a dumb arse who is too stupid to realize how dangerous he's being so he is comfortable by default. I mean truly know what you are doing and how to operate the gun. You should know everything about how it works. You should know all the safety rules. And you should be smart about how you handle and store it. The class will run you through a lot of situations you may have never thought of. Makes you really think about how it's not as easy as cowboying up and shooting bad guys. The competency part of the class where you shoot is a joke. Very easy. It costs 100 bucks roughly and a day of your time. They'll teach you everything you need to know about applications and stuff there if you ask.

Bring your gun to sheriffs station to see if it meets conceal carry criteria, make sure you have ammo with you too

That paperwork is given to you at the actual classroom part of the process.

I already replied to your thread on the Outdoor Board but I'll reply here also to correct some incorrect advice.
The affidavits in question are included with the printable application off the State Police website. It's not something you have go get your Dr to sign nor are they given to you by your carry course instructor(unless he happens to print out the applications for you as a part of the service of his class).
As I mention in my outdoor board reply, if you submit your application online to do not need to get the affidavits notarized nor turn them in. They're not required if app is done online.
