Male and Female Marines to Share Tents in the Field

Thoughts? I think the BC and BXO know their hands are tied until new leadership comes around and fixes this.
I will say, however, that sharing tents is a goddamn recipe for disaster. Just like them being in the military in the first place is.

“We’re not changing any of our tactical posture or breaking unit cohesion or adjusting anything to accommodate mixed genders while we’re operating in a field environment replicating tactical conditions,” said Maj. Charles Anklam III, executive officer for 1st Battalion, 8th Marines at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
quote:
“Our female Marines will find themselves side-by-side their male counterparts in a fighting hole or in their living conditions for the execution of field or deployed duties,” he said in a Jan. 20 interview.

When in their barracks, all of the female Marines have their own rooms, which include their own shower and bathroom, Anklam said. The battalion has had to make some adjustments in buildings where both women and men now work, he said.
“Typically you’ll find within an infantry battalion like in this building, we’ve got a downstairs and an upstairs head facility,” he said. “We’ve been able to allocate one of those for the use of female members and then the other for male members.”
So far, the battalion has not experienced any unexpected challenges to integrating the women into the unit, said Lt. Col. Reginald McClam, battalion commander.
Before the women arrived, the battalion had several discussions with officers and noncommissioned officers about how the female infantry Marines would become part of the unit, McClam said.
“We placed a continued emphasis on the corporal through first lieutenant because that’s the small unit leadership, the middle management, that really is critical in carrying out my commander’s intent and the policy and guidelines of Headquarters Marine Corps,” he said.
quote:
“This is what I told the staff,” McClam said, “I joined the Marine Corps to lead Marines and sailors. I didn’t take an oath of office that said I was going to lead male Marines or female Marines or male sailors or female sailors. I said I would lead Marines.”

Whole lot of "cohesion" going on in those tents.

Prepare for the "rape" allegations to take 50% of the fighting force out of the field because some chick finds out her frick buddy is banging some other broad.

It's all good until they get caught humping. Funny part is that, in today's climate, two dudes getting it on would be ignored because no one wants to face the PC backlash. But a dude and a chick? Court martials for everyone!

Many WM's are about to get pregnant. Like A LOT.

Yeah, gonna be weird when picking teams for the dick chicken tournament.
In all seriousness, part of me things they are doing this to create a problem. They can then use it as a reason why this experiment failed.

This shouldn't even be a fricking experiment. It's gonna cost lives and careers. Thank you PC police.

there were some shirts at Desert Storm that the chicks would wear that said "Desert Storm , Where Even Ugly Chicks Can Get Their Pick"
ETA: "Where Ugly Chicks Get To Choose," that's what it was

I agree. However, this may be a sly attempt at the commanders doing the best with the cards they are dealt.
They can't openly object to the policy, but if it becomes a tactical/strategic issue then they can bring substance to their argument.

Yeah, this is like giving them a bunch of grenades where the pins are replaced with thread and then telling them you don't want to hear about anyone accidentally blowing themselves up.

Sure they can, they already have. It's the Secretary of the Navy and the old Defense Secretary that did this and you can believe that HQMC definitely did gripe about this and were dragged into doing it kicking and screaming.
This policy needs to be nixxed and quickly.

wonder what that thing smells like after a few weeks in the desert?
