Buddy of mine was in Houston visiting his parents and family They went to the park to BBQ and his parents brought their Yorkie. Mid-way through, a hawk swooped down and flew off with the yorkie. Never to be seen again.

True Story.

My mom has a long haired. She hangs out outside all the time. I've always been worried about this happening. Words cannot express how goddamn pissed off I would be. I would go Liam Neeson on that damn bird.

I warned my wife about this with our puppy. She thought I was being ridiculous.

I hate that this happened to your pup! Glad he will be ok. Your a good pet owner for doing the surgery! Best wishes.

An eagle tried to fly off with me when I was a babe. I straight ended that with right hook. I never saw him again.

When a hawk swoops down on a defenseless dog with intent to commit murder, I shoot the bastard. That's my policy.

My worst nightmare. My backyard backs up to the Addicks Resevoir and I hear coyotes and owls back there all he time. I never let my pup in my backyard without being out there with her.

Same exact thing happened to my niece's family.

Mother in law came to visit and let her little dog out to pee (North Shore Area), they found the dog 3-4 houses down the street half eaten.

A neighbor witnessed the hawk swoop down and fly off with the pooch

Real question: What kind of clearance does a hawk need? I have a small animal in an area covered mostly by trees. Does that diminish the risk?

I'm going to hell.

The only thing that popped into my mind was hearing Poo Pou Broussard's voice from his Cajun Titanic skit saying, "Look Rose, I'm flyin!"
