I haven't see all of the X-Men movies, so I'm not sure if it was ever explained.

Pretend like X-3 doesn't exist.

So give it the Friday Night Lights Season 2 treatment. Got it.

First Class and DOFP are prequels. DOFP also changed the continuity.

Apparently you didn't watch x-men 3, because it is explained in that movie.
ETA: not that I blame you for not watching the entire end, because that was probably a smart move.

Was it one of those post-credit things that comic book movies like to do? B/c if that is the case, then yes, I didn't see that prat.

Yes in part. There were a few scenes that set it up earlier in the movie as well. Charles was posing an ethics question to students:
quote:
"His organs and nervous system work, but he has no consciousness to speak of. What if we were to transfer the consciousness of one person, say a father of four with terminal cancer, into the body of this man? How are we to decide what falls within the range of ethical behavior and what... (interruption)"
Moira is seen with this man in a coma during the movie. Then at the end while the movie brings up the loss of Charles we see the comatose man awaken for the first time. The implication is that Charles found his way into this body.
(It turns out that this is actually charles' twin brother, having actually killed him with his powers in utero.)

Well let's see:
Prior to Days of Future Past, it was explained that Xavier had an identical twin brother who was basically brain dead. He transferred his mind to the other body and overwrote him. (post-credit scene)
After Days of Future Past happened, Jean never killed Charles and Scott, and Logan never killed her; hence why they are alive at the end.

I have no recent memory of seeing a thread about this on this board, and a search brings up nothing.
If it bothers you, just ignore it.

Yes, and no. Like I posted earlier, from X-Men The Last Stand:

True True. But if Xavier lost the use of his legs in the 60's via a bullet (1st Class), and if the future events of DOFP is Charles' twin (before time altered), then how come he is in a wheelchair?

His twin was comatose his entire life. I assumed his body was not capable of walking. Think Neo when he was first awoken, he had to be rehabilitated. It's not a perfect answer but it's something.

How are people not flipping out about spoilers
I don't care, because I got bored halfway into the second movie, but still
