I fricking hate Floyd and actually enjoy watching Conor fight, but Floyd would work him and barely break a sweat.

It's .000000001% he knocks out Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match.

I just looked it up. Floyd makes 70 million average per fight, with his highest paid fight being 220 million(100million from the fight).
It looks like Connor made 15 million(2.1 million) in his highest paid
I follow the money, which is why I think boxers are "better" than MMA fighters

Conor sells more PPVs than anyone not named Mayweather.
He is by far the biggest MMA draw in history.
His first 3 PPVs drew more than GSPs best 3.
His WORST 3 drew more than Rouseys BEST 3.
Diaz 1, Diaz 2, and Alvarez did around 4.5 million buys total, which was something like 3X more than boxing did in that same time frame.
Mayweather Pacqiiao did around 4.5 million buys.
Mayweather
Conor

Did you see the figured Pride posted?
Floyd made $220mil in 1 fight, McGregor's career earnings is $15mil.
The gap between Floyd and Conor is wayyyyyy bigger than the gap between Conor and the next most marketable UFC person IMO.

Diaz is a way bigger dude than both mcgregor and floyd. floyd walks around at 150-160 and I bet diaz walks around around 185 lbs. *** actually, I just read where he was walking around at 200 lbs for ufc 202.

I don't think you can look at those figures and say "Floyd is X times more marketable than Conor." Floyd doesn't have to split his money. He is his own promoter.
Conor has the UFC. If you wanted to look at actual market impact, I think should you should look include UFC's total revenue earned on a Conor fight.
ETA: Rough numbers. Conor grossed at a minimum $247 million in PPV buys for the UFC in 2016.
UFC 196 = 1,317,000 PPV buys.
UFC 202 = 1,500,000 PPV buys.
UFC 205 = 1,300,000 PPV buys.
Total 2016 PPV buys = 4,117,000.
At $60 per PPV (this is the regular PPV price; I have no idea if this number includes bars and restaurants which have to pay a higher price), that totals $247,000,000 in gross revenue off PPV buys. Doesn't include gate and merchandise.
What does that have to do with the current discussion. Idk. Just found it interesting.

Anyway you slice it, Conor and Mayweather ARE their respective sports, and #2 are waaaaaaaaay behind each.
To what degree is just semantics.

Means literally nothing if you cant get a clean punch in. I have roughly the same chance to win the lottery as Conor does of getting a clean one on Floyd's chin.

He is going to have a reach, power, and size advantage over floyd. Look at the reach of fighters that floyd has fought. I am interested to see the fight if it happens. I think mcgregor has a much better chance than you believe.

I don't see how UFC can win in this situation.
If (99.99999999% chance) Floyd wins, their most marketable star will have lost and it just shows once again that Boxers would kill even the best UFC guys standing up.
If Conor wins (lol) then he sees just how much he can make being a straight up boxer. Why even fight in UFC?

Just his earning from UFC fight is prob right around that, he made $3 million on each of his last few fights

Now give him gloves and going against a dude who isn't just better at defense than Diaz, but he may be the best at defense in the history of boxing(certainly up there), and you're telling me there's a "legit chance" Conor knocks him out?

nobody is going to care if mcgregor loses. people are only going to watch in hopes that he does catch floyd with that left. he just lost to a journeyman in the ufc, nate diaz, and he is more popular than ever. losing to arguably the greatest boxer ever in a boxing match isnt going to hurt him or the ufc.
