If coach O watched the game he probably said "it' a shame we don't have anyone who is as remotely gifted as Deshaun Watson."

Scott has as much of a chance as anyone to win the starting job. If he is the one that comes out of camp with the job then he earned it

The one with two blown out knees?

Because Scott is not Deshaun Watson.
Etling, Harris, McMillan, Brennan and Narcisse might as well give up now. It's all over. LS is the new anointed one.

2 man. Scott isn't beating out two seniors.

If you were watching that game last night, you would know that Lindsey Scott is not/never will be anything close to Deshaun Watson. Nor will many other quarterbacks in college football, and that's just the reality of it.
Don't agree with this at all. Watson consistently threw balls in the dirt throughout the first half. Short ball were so low, that they had to review three straight catches. Watson has struggled mightily at times in the season. He's been projected as low as the 4th round. Good QB, but by no means so good that I could discount the possibility that our young guys could not measure up. You, nor I have seen these guys on this stage.

No Need to start Scott. either LSU needs to start an older QB Harris or Etling for one more year or needs to start over with Myles Brennan or Narcisse.
huh?

You have to think O and Canada were taking notes and thinking "THIS is the only chance we have to beat that team."
Why?
I would think that they've been thinking (since the game happened) that we only needed 11 points to win this year.
We don't need Watson, or Newton, or Tebow at QB. Just someone who is capable of scoring 11 points.
So.. Someone on the level of Mike White, Austin Allen, Josh Dobbs, Trevor Knight, Sean White, Del Rio.
The point is.. They'll play the best QB. They won't play the best DT QB.

We are recruiting the #2 DT QB(Depending on what site you use) in the nation why would we start Scott over him.
Are you referring to rankings? Scott threw for 3000 and rushed for 2000, a state championship, All American, playing Louisiana 5A.
Both incoming guys have dominated in "small ball". One in 3A, the other Mississippi 4A (which is the size of our 3A).
Scott lower rank was based on lack of ideal measureables. But in terms of level of competition, I'm more impressed with what Scott did and against who he did it against. Rankings dont play. Players do.

I'm sorry. Are these two Sr. unbeatable? So talented that a younger doesnt have a chance?

While I'd like to see him play, Etling and Harris are seniors with plenty of experience, and Scott was only a 3 star guy and is only 5-11. If it were up to me had get a hell of a look, but there are a lot of factors working against him.

I agree.

This is not one of them. 5'11" is the reason he's a three star. Its literally the same factor.

Maybe Lindsey Scott is the next Deshaun Watson. I suppose it is possible. But he probably isn't, simply because it's very hard for anyone to be that good at this level, much less someone without his physical talent. You can't get mad at people for coming to that conclusion.

Its not about Scott, but all of our younger QBs. I've watched Watson the entire season. He played big last night, but has struggled at various points through out the season.

Watson himself, has not met the standard that we are now trying to advance here. He himself has not been able to be "this" good consistently. My comment is directed at ALL of the younger QBs on the roster. I dont claim to know what they will do.
All LSU QBs have been in a system here, that is not exactly "QB friendly". So who knows what we would (or will) see if they are placed in an offense favorable to their skill set. My opinion would to be based on those variables, which we've yet to see.

Your basic assumption is that we need a running QB. However, you missed that the 'running QB' was 13/31 for 113 yards. And out-rushed Watson by 20 yards. And his team lost the game.
Whenever Scott is capable of throwing for 420 yards against the best D in CFB, then you can start this thread. So I hope that Canada was watching the game too. Because a 'dual threat QB' did not win that game last night

Bama's Dual Threat actually made it to the national championship last night, and was the SEC Offensive player of the year.
I believe it was watson's legs that led to the Clemson's first score. He acted as if he was hesitant to run early. Once he showed that he was willing to pull it down, it opened up the passing game for him. It was the fact that he presented the THREAT to run and throw, that gave bama problems. Hence DUAL threat.
