You’re selling Etling short on his scrambling ability. He made several critical scrambles in that Auburn game and several others during the course of the season. Etling is a better scrambler than people give him credit for.

Anyway, Mauck did a lot of scrambling and very little passing when he first started playing, but in the 2003 season that we won the national Championship in, Mauck hardly scrambled at all that season, because he had finally learned to be an efficient passer and quarterback. However, Mauck never was a strong-arm passer like Flynn and I doubt he was any better than Etling, who did manage to hit several long passes last season to Chark, Dupre, and other. I remember Mauck also hitting some pretty long passes to Henderson and Clayton in the 2003 season.

Junior season to Junior season, I’d say at least at this time, both Mauck and Etling are about equal. Now Mauck had a little advantage in that he didn’t have to play in Les Miles antiquated offense, and Etling did.

Nonetheless, although Flynn had a stronger arm than either Mauck or Etling did, he wasn’t great by any means, but for the most part – he got the job done, although I do remember Perrilloux coming in and winning a couple for him. Not to mention, that exactly like Mauck, he was also an 8th round draft pick.

I’m thinking, no, I’m hoping, that Etling will be quite a bit better next season now that he has a season at LSU under his belt and now that we will have a new OC and a new offense that should be tailored towards what he does good and be far more creative at the same time.

Not really. He's not awful, but Mauk was much better.

Yes he did. A lot of the key plays that season were him scrambling, especially in the SECCG.

I don't agree at all.

Because he was injured. It had nothing to do with performance.

Flynn was on several NFL rosters. Etling will not be drafted at all.

Etling is just too inconsistent, and throws lobbing, rainbow passes that are begging to be picked off. If we didn't have such a strong running game, he'd have been eaten alive.

I'm hoping Scott or Brennan can shine through. Narcisse can't pass worth a shite. 95 mph fast balls don't matter if you can't get them over the plate.

I tell you what you gay ignoramus, if you can't respond and be civil and decent at the same time because you have the maturity of an 8 year old prepubescent spoiled brat throwing a temper tantrum, then you can go fly a freaking kite you childish gay idiot. I'm not responding to an immature effeminate gay brat like you, you damn moron. I’d love for you to try to act that way in front of my face so you would find out what I would do to you. I’d have fun too. Get lost you loser.

No Need to start Scott. either LSU needs to start an older QB Harris or Etling for one more year or needs to start over with Myles Brennan or Narcisse.

Explain to me why Scott should be left out, go watch his videos on hudle, he is just as good if not better than Narcisse and Brennan. It is going to be whoever does best. Scott did extremely well in the spring game last year and has it between the ears. He can scramble well and throw on the run. He wasnt accountable for 5031 yards at a 5A high school while holding a 3.9 GPA his senior year for no damn reason
