you really think things like door sensors and motion detectors will ever use WIFI

You know that Honeywell Lyric thermostat you love so much ? Well guess what its family of products has door/window sensors and a motion that operate on the 2.4Ghz wifi signal. The company you jerkoff to on here lastest and greatest product line uses wifi and you are in this thread telling people to sit down and shut up because they don't know shite??? brah

He doesn't have it, he just thought it would be good, and I thought it would be great too. He's got old school honeywell wifi thermostats I think. The one he posted about is shite. I was going to buy it until I read up more on it. It's not worth it, Honeywell botched that one bad. Went with Ecobee Lites instead.

Yep, some of his reviews when he is objective about it are great.

link?

Look I get it: it drives you crazy I set up my home automation taking advantage of insanely cheap clearance deals and without calling you to hook it up or install a ridiculously expensive crestar or c4.

Mctiger and I have not only offered great advice but we've also passed deal tips along to other posters on here. I've sold multiple HA items i got a deal on at cost to others on here... What have you done?

And I'm also sorry everyone made fun of you after you worked so hard to stage that Ghost beer next to the solo cup. I mean you wasted one of your precious pretentious hipster beers in hopes of a few upvotes but got nothing but grief.

You are not allowed in the cad bubble!

For starters I don't sell or install crestron or C4. Secondly if you think your robots and dodads are even on the same playing field as those systems you need to open up the window in the bubble you are living in and get some fresh air. I do appreciate your contribution to this board. For the items you play with in your house you offer good information when you can read through some of your bullshite, like the bullshite you are spewing in this thread.

Telling people to sit down and shut up because they don't know shite about the industry yet your arguments can be ignorant like the example I pointed out above. Nobody here knows everything about every topic on this board and everyone can learn something including you bubble boy.

never installed one, just posted about a new product the same way you do when nest finally fixes huge bugs with theirs.

the other poster called me out saying i was stupid/redundant for setting up smart things with a hub first then complaining about having to set them up again in alexa hub.

so i replied that 99% of the stuff i use isn't supported by homekit, home or alexa and thats the backbone of my HA build-out.

its funny since you're so on board with zwave+ and clearly understand the benefits of MESH that you cite a wifi sensor as some kind of 'proof' i don't know what i'm talking about.

I usually love all your posts but...

Echo Dot the most useless contraption ever invented? It is at CAD's house

Wholeheartedly disagree. We have a wink hub with connected lights and a harmony ultimate one + hub that can control the TV. With 2 little ones, my wife and I use the echo like 20 times a day.

Real world scenario: Changing one of the girls diapers and don't have hands to flip a light on or dim it so I just tell alexa to do it.

Also, when you're in a house full of girls, it's rewarding to hear Alexa just say "Ok" and then shite gets done.

For your complaints about Alexa's search, put Google Search on Amazon Alexa. This is what I am talking about why there is a lot more support out there for skills, it has the benefit of being there longer.

She isn't as refined yet, she's got some catching up to do with Google and Siri. It's gotten a lot better since when I got the Echo at initial launch.

How do you guys find this stuff? I've found some things by accident that make me laugh but hadn't even thought of some movie quotes like this.

OP, I get plenty use out of it like conversions, timers, HA, music, traffic, geography, news, and the many skills you can enable. You should change your thread title to "Dot is useless for me". Otherwise you look pretty foolish.

Some 4K (ultra high definition) devices are recognized by the Plex app. We're working to bring 4K playback support to other devices, too. 4K/UHD content matching the following will Direct Play on supported devices:

Container: MP4
Resolution: 3840x2160 or smaller
Video Encoding: HEVC (H.265)
Video Frame Rate: 30fps
Video Bit Depth: 8

4K content not matching the above properties will be transcoded to 1080p. Transcoding 4K content is a very intensive process and will require a powerful computer running Plex Media Server.

When possible. We currently support 4K on the TiVo Roamio & Bolt (Series 6) devices, supported 2016 Tizen-based Samsung models, as well as VIZIO televisions.
