Larry Holder now reporting the CSP/Rams talks; says Loomis "open" to it

I think this is a little bit different than the BS La Canfora and RapSheet splash reports now that a local reporter is actually reporting that this is coming from their source. From NOLA.com:

Rams set sights on Sean Payton; GM Mickey Loomis open to trade, source says
By Larry Holder, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune
ATLANTA -- The gears have been put into motion for a possible end of Sean Payton's time with the New Orleans Saints.
The Los Angeles Rams are expected to ask permission this week to speak with Payton about their head coach opening, according to a source familiar with the situation. General manager Mickey Loomis would be open to trading Payton, the source said.
Payton and Loomis met for about an hour in the Georgia Dome after the Saints-Falcons game Sunday to discuss Payton's future, according to the source.
The source added it's still too early in the process to know the compensation the Saints would ask the Rams for in return for Payton.
Reports of Payton's possible interest in L.A. surfaced less than a month ago after the Rams fired Jeff Fisher. Payton explored options last offseason to leave the Saints, as well, with Indianapolis and San Francisco as possible destinations.

Can Loomis trade himself as well?

Tired of being held hostage by a coach constantly looking for better options

I will be pretty pissed off if they pull this shite

How do we know Payton is the one looking.
Also the rams have NOTHING to trade

It better be a 1st round.

If there was a better option for the Rams than CSP, what is it and why would the Saints be better with another coach than CSP?
frick Loomis.
frick Loomis.

Just depends on what we get in the trade and who we replace him with
Posted on 1/1/17 at 9:52 pm to Rand AlThor
What could we possibly get for him?

Thank the lord
Pull the trigger Mickey, then get fired

This is my biggest problem with this scenario.
I would like to give Payton another season, I believe that we are close to the cusp of greatness again. But I would not necessarily be opposed to going ahead and pulling the plug, as long as the compensation was correct and there was a solid plan in place for his replacement (Doug Marrone? NO THANKS!). But the primary issue with that when it comes to the Rams is that they have nothing. They are low on picks as it is because of the Goff trade, and I find it highly unlikely that they would get players involved in a coaching trade. That means we would likely be looking at compensation like a 2nd rounder or something, which to me is just not good enough.

If it happens. But there's a reason he's the only coach who's name is brought up in this every offseason.

Report just came out that rams are looking at Josh Mcdaniel's.

This is starting to look like it's the end of the road.

Glazer ain't saying nothing.

Give us Aaron Donald for Sean Payton. You can take his sorry arse defensive coaches as well for free.

Better be for 2-3 picks. I say Saints throw $9 mill at Saban. Draft Reuben Foster or Tim Williams with 11th pick

With what shitty options are available, why pull the trigger?
Hell even Marrone might get the gig with the Jags which would leave us with no one.
Although it would be crazy, I wouldn't be opposed to hiring Tom Coughlin with him knowing it will be his last ride as well as Brees'. Keep Pete Carmichael as a head coach in waiting and hire Coughlin to be at the helm for Brees' last year's wouldn't be bad

Pete carmichael would be an abortion of a headcoach. He has no voice, no backbone, and do you remember how terrible he was with clock mgmt when payton was gone? Just no
