That was 3 fricking years ago. The offense was rolling this year under Carmichael before Payton took over. And no backbone? No voice? Do you know him personally or some shite we don't know about?

Calm down, Pete.

This time last year I really wanted to keep Payton, today I'm not as firm in that feeling. If he comes back, the same defensive staff will be here. Not sure if we aren't better off without him if it means that we get a new staff on the defensive side

And the offense didn't fall too far off without him in 2012, IIRC

Payton definitely deserves another year. He needs to overhaul a lot of coaches, though.

I'd be ok with trading CSP for a 2ndRd pick in 2017 and a stud defensive player (like Donald from the Rams)
Then go hire a defensive head coach and let Carmichael run the offense

Players aren't traded for coaches.

Draft picks and cash only.

I wouldn't take any less than what tampa gave up for Gruden. They are very comparable as coaches record wise

The rams game did it for me. CSP doesn't have the fire he used to have. We have also had the worst luck in the league lately with hurt players, rogue players like junior and injury bugs with hirings like Byrd. EVERYONE IN THE NFL thought we were a contender that year. Sucks. But it's time for a coaching overhaul. Look what it did for the Falcons.

And, I'm proud of the Saints this year. 25 players on injured reserve and we were still a few points away from a decent season. As alway...NEXT YEAR. Go Saints!
