This is the best thing WJBO could have done. If I represent the norm in any way, Gerry V has killed their ratings. He was so bad that I changed the station each morning and would forget to put it back in the afternoon. So no WJBO all day.

I stopped listening to WRNO 99.5 because of him. Absolutely awful.

I rarely send emails to radio stations, but I did in reference to this guy. He was horrible, mostly cared about New Orleans issues, and his horrible accent was nauseating. I told them in the email that I'd never listen to JBO in the morning as long as he was there and I didn't. Good riddance!

He would flat out lie about social media on his show. He would talk about debates blowing up on the show's FB page and you could go there and there would be like one comment. Dead as a doornail.
I'm also thoroughly convinced he would fabricate the listener emails he would read during the show.

I stopped listening to Gerry V in the mid 90's... I don't know why New Orleans market holds on to such mediocrity but that dude had no business being on the radio for 20+yrs.

Gerry V caused me to completely abandon wjbo. I stopped listening completely and went to Walton and Johnson. He was so singularly terrible that I wrote them a respectful email describing his shortcomings and how little he appealed to the Baton Rouge audience. They wrote back asking me to give the show time.
No amount of time was going to boost his IQ, improve his abilities as an entertainer, or fix that horrendous accent. It was like listening to NEW YAWK PAULIE each morning.

His implicit support of HRC and de facto opposition to Trump did him in; just like a lot. V couldn't help hitting the PC 'tarbaby' and thinking himself morally superior. Another one bites the dust.
