What has happened to players that would give their left nut to play for LSU?

Is it all a business decision these days?

I refuse to believe that. Mental toughness is more valuable than most physical attributes, something gifted athletes find out when the roar of the crowd becomes silent.

Playing for any college program is an honor. Playing for LSU, if you are from Louisiana is much more than that.

#4 class in the country. After a coaching change. I'm not exactly sure what some of you are expecting

So much uncertainty with the coaching situation and travel not as much of a factor are the two main reasons for some kids

Are people shocked that 17 yr old kids from varying backgrounds are trying to position themselves for life altering pay days? Not saying that won't happen at LSU. Our NFL history is a huge selling point, but they are being pulled in every direction and promised the world if they go to the institution that is courting them.

That is why we have to offer the total package: the LSU experience, development, playing time and a legit shot at the NFL dream.

I don't know, it's not 1950 anymore

I'm not saying some kids don't bleed for certain teams, but with technology, faster travel times, instant access to information, and the expansion of television coverage, there is less desire to stay close to home. It's a problem that the fans have created as much as the athletes. We desire coverage of these kids and get angry when there is none, but then want to complain when kids seek attention.

Kids are getting pressed 24/7 by coaches, fans, and reporters for certain schools. They're treated like superstars before they even prove themselves. Of course they are going to look around. 25 years ago, there was less of this seen. But today, you know the name of every kid LSU is recruiting, where they're from, and what they're thinking via twitter.

You can't think of recruiting like that anymore. It's not a take it or leave it world. It's a let's get the best we can and compete world.

It has nothing to do with mental toughness. These kids aren't sitting around watching college football all day saturday and have no ties to schools (with exceptions). They're out with friends or doing normal 16 year old things. They probably watch 2-3 full games a year because they're more interested in themselves and their world at that age and I can't blame them one bit (I was just like that).

You have to recruit the kids.

Who knows, maybe they have no nuts.

The business decision I think is really an ego decision. Just wants to play on the Kool aide team.

That's not the priority, talent is. LSU goes out and gets the most talented kids they can and Brother they do it better than pretty much everyone.

Some kids just want to leave the state they are currently in and experience new places. This is not a hard concept.

After traveling to other places around the country I can't blame kids for wanting to leave Louisiana if they lived here their whole lives. The ones who want to stay are the ones we want.

No nuts? This thread sounds like a person who has never done anything outside of Louisiana. Who sees the LSU as the center of the world. Lmao

The culture and the population has permanently changed...it's time to move on or be frustrated forever...loyalty is no longer a desirable quality in the West anymore...period! Just the facts, ma'am!
