Why do the Jews in the US continue to vote democrat?

All my people at Temple Sinai that I'm related to or know from there are all #MAGA. Maybe they are an anomaly but at least their stingy stereotype also falls in line with politics.

I have had this discussion IRL for 50 years with my Jewish friends and the best explanation I've heard is as follows:
Democrats sell themselves as champions of minority rights and protectors against 'tyranny of the majority.'
Jews are the smallest minority in the US. This is why they are wary of the Christian majority and favor organizations like the ACLU and the Southern Poverty Law Center. I know Jews with college degrees who are convinced the KKK is alive and kicking everywhere.
You could call it paranoia.

It's a mistake to assume that all Jews are religious or identify with Israel. They're far more secular and liberal than a lot of Republicans assume. All the Israel pandering might help win votes with evangelical saps who think they're paving the way for the rapture, but it ain't winning too many more Jewish votes.
And AIPAC is officially non-partisan; they'll work to get what they want from whomever is in power.

this is my sister and mother. Israel is their #1 voting issue. I always ask why is Israel so important to a white girl living in BFE Louisiana. She always starts in about God.

Democrats since the Civil War have the been the party that has reached out to immigrants in building their electoral coalitions. Republicans have tended to be Nativist and haven't changed. Trump ran on an anti-immigrant platform.
Plus Jews given their history of persecution support the party that tends to support immigrants and minorities. I don't blame them.

Because the vast majority of conservative or nationalistic Jews left the rest of the world to go and settle in Israel. The vast majority of the liberal pantywaist Jews stayed where they were.
