"I'll say this, and I mean this," Riley told The Sun Sentinel. "Shaq's acquisition was bigger than any acquisition that we ever made, including the Big Three."

Just heard this on TNT.

Shaq won with just Wade.

Lebron needed wade and the other guy.

Kenny Smith put it best in perspective "If the Shaq deal doesn't go down, LeBron doesn't think about going to Miami"

Acquiring Shaq got them their 1st title ever.

When the Big 3 showed up, titles were an expectation.

I don't really blame Riley for saying this. Shaq played a major role in the Heat winning their first championship. As Michael Irvin once said "None of the championships ever come close to being as great as the first." Winning championships in 2012 and 2013 were great but I doubt Heat fans and team executives were as ecstatic and over the moon as they were in 2006 when they won it all for the first time. So Riley probably is being genuine when he says Shaq was the greatest acquisition in Heat history.
