What are your thoughts on a birth control mandate, from ages 15-20? I know there are some religious arguments against it, but do you think it would improve the situation in this country, i.e. high school drop-outs, life-long welfare, the mental and financial stress of being a single parent, people that do not want or are not ready for kids, like the hot pepper chick, etc. I believe mandatory birth control or mandatory 2 yr military service from age 17-19 would help all of these problems.

Seems like it would encourage teenagers to do sex. We don't want a country where teenagers sex.

There will never be a law that attempts to control the pussy. Pussy wants to be free.

Less government and more personal accountability.

How about birth control for everyone on food stamps?

Do you mean oral contraceptive? Because they can have potential long term side effects. So no.

Do you mean free condoms in schools? Sure, I could go for that.

It is ethically unsound and is reflective of totalitarian government. Plus, good luck telling a woman after Roe vs. Wade that you can have any say in how she handles her reproductive system.

However...I would be lying if I didn't admit that not only have I had similar thoughts before, but I also think it would solve a number of problems among the lower socioeconomic communities.

I have no idea how it would be enforced. Maybe through routine immunizations. I know it sounds like a Hitler-type move, but look around you. Especially here in Louisiana. Generation after generation of 16 year olds getting pregnant, no familial help, no help from the father or his parents. The girl is stuck either not working, working a min wage job and on every benefit program available, the children cannot be cared for properly, and thus, the chance that they repeat the cycle increases. I believe these are the biggest problems this country is facing

Yeah, I'm all for personal accountability. And I understand the problem. But if some girl, let's call her Pandora, ends up getting pregnant anyway. What do you do to her as punishment? Force an abortion? Now you have really opened up Pandora's box. And furthermore, what if honest efforts were made and the birth control just failed to work? You know, that happens too. This thread is going to go on and on, by the way.

15, 16, and 17 year olds, and their bodies, are under the control of their parents. If we could prevent kids at these ages from having babies they cannot care for, it would ease the financial burden on everyone and cut down on the number of kids being raised in extreme poverty.

Those people are pussies. More worried about an invisible bro in the sky than their 16-year-old daughter getting railed down by the JV quarterback.

Clearly.

The problem is, is that these people aren't shamed anymore. Even back when I was in high school from 05-09, it was an embarrassment to the teenager and to the family as a whole.

It's one thing to have one in college, but still have a career path, but when you're 16 or still in high school and not guaranteed anything more than your GED, you are screwed and so is your kid.

Obviously the problem is, is that you can't just tell everyone that it isn't allowed because then the teenagers will really find a way to do it, just because they aren't supposed to. And you know, we're supposed to have rights.

Unfortunately, I have no alternative to the situation and we're likely just going to have to sit and watch people ruin their lives constantly.

Mandatory military service is definitely a no. I'd be ok with everyone being on birth control for those ages, but anything mandatory I'm generally against. The government shouldn't have that much power

Meh, way too many hurdles to overcome to make something like this mandatory even if it seems like a good idea.

I would be all for the government proposed to pay for the surgery and offering a $2500 one time payment to any low life count over the age of 18 who wanted to have the procedure done. So many of our problems in this country stem from scum having kids they can't or won't support.

I know these dumb asses would fall all over themselves to get that $2500 because they can buy new shite and/or a nice little supply of drugs and alcohol.
Hell, throw in a few cartons of cigs to sweeten the deal.
