1982 - When we started "Do'in the Dalton . . ."

My dad was a hunter and a fisherman, he didn't watch "athletic" sports per se. My interest in sports came from my brothers and friends so MLB and NFL captured my adolescent attention. I always liked and followed LSU - the Ruston Rocket and Tommy Casanova but I didn't really become an emotionally connected fan until one November in 1979 when #1 Bama escaped with a 3-0 victory over the Tigers. The fight and relentless tenacity of the Tigers won me over. I've been a diehard fan ever since.

Great way to figure out a guy's age bracket.
But I'll say 1970. I remember being glued to my parent's large console stereo, riveted by the play-by-play call of the thrilling goal line stand by our undersized Tigers against storied Notre Dame in frigid South Bend. I remember shedding tears after that 3-0 loss, heartbroken, yet filled with a love for the Tigers and a pride to be from Louisiana and from that moment on, Forever an LSU fan. Geaux Tigers! Love Purple, Live Gold!

2000. We had always listened on the radio, but living in Atlanta, weren't on TV much. Internet made it easier to look up scores and stats from games. Had a good friend older sister at Auburn so we would go there whenever LSU was playing.
I actually remember following the baseball team more than football before that.

Late 1968. 1st Annual Peach Bowl LSU 31-27 over FL St. It was on TV and is the first game that I watched closely and remember well. I was 7.

57 or 58. I was eleven years old. It was WWL every Saturday night. Never got to see an LSU game on TV unless they made a bowl game.

I'd say 98 when i went to the Florida game. I was young but i got hooked fast. Got real deep about 2000. Then i got to spend my dad's last game with him in a packed Dome for the Sugar Bowl against Illinois. Followed by snow on the way home. It didn't take anymore after that. Powerful day of my life.

1967- I was only 10, but starting that season I would listen to every game on the radio, TV or in person.

I don't remember the year but it had to be in the late 70's to early 80's because I remember listening to John Ferguson on the radio. He is still my favorite voice of the tigers.

Fall of 1983. My first time in TS.
Jeff Wickersham hit Eric Martin on a slant on our first play and #41 took it 80 yds and scored in the end zone we were sitting in.
Never been the same.

1964...when Joe Labruzzo was tackled by Stan Hindman and Ole Miss tackle on the goal line and the Tigers did not score!
I don't remember if Labruzzo being tackled or not scoring did it but my dads meltdown was monumental!!![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

First game I remember being all into was when we beat some shite school like Western Carolina like 58-0 and I thought that meant we had one of the best teams ever. That was like 98-99ish.
