He is a liability. Bad decisions every time he is on the court

Not sure what happened. He has regressed big time.

This game was all around terrible for him. He hasn't been shooting well, but he's been more reliable with the ball than Mays but he was just so fricking bad tonight.

Patterson was such a scary shooter when he was a freshman. He has regressed every season under Jones's coaching.

Kid just had an off night. Give him a break . Atleast we walk away with a win. I hate Johnny Jones with a passion but I'm still happy the tigers won .

He was really terrible. Unfortunately mays isn't playing much better and can't defend.

The problem is that Mays is a disaster on defense. pick your poison. With this team though I rather have anyone who wants to defend

He is doing what Sampson did last year.... He is pressing because he feels he has to make something happen in the limited minutes that he gets. Once he lets the game come to him instead of trying too hard, he will be a much better player.

He is awful. He's like 3 of 19 from threes. Same move to the baseline, and turns it over everytime. Plays with his head in his arse the whole game.

I think he is pressing too much with fewer minutes. It's not just one game. His shooting has been awful.

He will come back around. We aren't even close with Oklahoma last year without him playing a pretty good game

He was really bad. I would play Mays and hopefully he will learn. Patterson is a waste.

Come back around? I don't recall him ever actually being around, per se.

Patterson had a bad game, but his bad game was still light years ahead of Mays. Mays can't defend and the offense is completely dead with him running the point. He walks the ball down the court and then makes the same useless pass to the wing every time. Patterson is a superior player in every aspect at this point.

Patterson cannot be the best option right now. He has zero confidence and has to come out.
He was never going to be a good shooter, but he is so bad you literally do not have to defend him, causing more problems for the offense.

Here is the problem with Jalyn Patterson...

He's a very average to below average role player. He's a guy that on most teams would play 10 minutes or less. Mays needs help on defense, but JP has this fake persona about him that he is a good defender...he's not. Is he average? Yea, he's an average defender...but he's 6 foot, gives NOTHING on offense, and sometimes is ok on defense. That's not exactly someone I want on the floor a lot.

Through the years, for some reason, the perception of his basketball ability has grown. People on this board always love the backups, but the reality is..he's just ok. When Jenkins gets healthy and comes back, I can't see JP playing much. Mays is a superstar on offense in the making, hopefully he doesn't lose PT.
