I don't think it's a stretch to think he or anyone else is an a-hole if you follow someone and beat they because they called you out on your bad driving. I think we can all agree on that. Doesn't make him guilty in this inciden

Agreed.

Hell, I think you can argue the previous incident gives him a great reason to fear for his life. He knows there are assholes like him out there, so he carries for that very reason, and when someone gets out after a road rage incident, he knows what the results could be. Crazy.

just can't get over the idea that Gasser dealt an asswhipping back in 2006, but when the roles were reversed, he shot McKnight dead.

I understand they were fighting, but I don't know if Gasser was whipping arse.

Maybe Gasser got the short end of the fight way back in 2006. We don't know at this point. Either way, I don't believe this incident will have much effect on the current case. Know, if Gasser shot or stabbed the guy in 2006, then things take on a different light.

But, self protection is a life and death situation. I had 2 incidents the '80s where I defended myself with a firearm against another white person and was never arrested or convicted.

For Gasser, if gets off criminally for this incident, I guarantee the McKnight family will sue him for wrongful death and/or civil rights.

He very well could be, but in that episode he had to protect himself. If cooler heads prevailed, JM would still be alive. But, I can't blame Gasser protecting himself.

I understand where you're coming from. Gasser protected himslef as many of us would likely have done. The issue is his rage. That's what makes him an a-hole. It takes two to tango.

Yes road rage for the most part is a two way street. With his prior road rage incident, and yesterday's tragedy he needs some serious psychiatric help. For the incident and taking another human being's life. The latter is something that can screw a person up for the duration. I don't believe Gasser's the type looking for trouble in order to kill someone like many people in this thread hinted. He is a person like most of us who was thrust into a no-win situation.

A horrible situation where there an winners. So sad.

Gasser seems to be very similar to a George Zimmerman type. Can dish it out until he can't handle the situation and resort's to a weapon.

Another man claimed that he recognized Gasser from their neighborhood and earlier confrontations on the road. “He’s been like this. He’s been road raging,” said Mohammad Mussa. Mussa said he passed Gasser’s Infiniti sometime shortly before Halloween 2015, but Gasser then sped ahead of him and tried to race him down Behrman Highway. “I got to the red light. He started cursing me out, and I started cursing him,” Mussa said. Only the presence of a Sheriff’s Office vehicle nearby prevented the situation from getting worse, he said. Another time, on Terry Parkway, Gasser tried to race him again, Mussa said. “He rolled his window down and he told me 'F*** you' and he rolled off,” Mussa said. Mussa recalled telling his wife, after that interaction, that the other driver “needs to slow down. They need to take his car away from him.”

From the previous incident & neighbors statement it seems Gasser has anger management issues
He may have honestly feared for his life when he shot JM but I don't think he's completely innocent

Yep. It's the problem with stand your ground laws - they don't prevent people from escalating situations they just allow people to shoot others when it's escalated past what they can handle.

One witness said he shot standing over him. Evidence shows this didn't happen

Fearing for his life and fear of getting his arse whooped are two different things...how can one fear for their life if the other guy hasn't brandished any type of weapon

You think the white Trump supporter that was pulled out of his car and beaten by the black guys didn't have the thought of "Please don't kill me!" cross his mind?

I hope to god I never have to fire my gun at another human being. However, I would suggest you never try to enter my vehicle or house unwelcomed or unannounced Pete.
