Best Southern Gothic Film

Just watched Hell or High Water and it got me pissed off that there aren't more great southern Gothic movies made. I do think though it's a very hard genre to depict and only those who grew up in it can really get it right (unless your the coens). And there aren't many southern filmmakers.
My top 3:
The Apostle
Sling Blade
No Country For Old men
I like the old ones too like the original Cape Fear, Night Of The Hunter, The Chase, and Days of Heaven

Do films like Last Picture Show (and its sequel Texas City) and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil fall into this category?
What about Southern Comfort?
O Brother Where Art Thou? (Another Coen)
Of those choices, I probably lean towards either No Country or Last Picture Show, but I'm not sure how broadly/narrowly this genre should be drawn.

I always thought of that as a new western.
I've always liked "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", and "To Kill a Mockingbird" (that's an easy one)

Mud and Shotgun Stories are a couple good ones from director Jeff Nichols

What about The Client?
It's not the best, but I'm really reaching for something that hasn't been named yet.
