Yet another tragedy. The couple who are parents of the three boys found in the woods haven't been found either, have they?

I think that couple is John and Janet Summers (Sommers?) and they are still missing per WATE.com

Thoughts and prayers.
Me neither. Ttying to stay composed for my son would be hard as hell right now.

So I am reading that the dead woman found was not the father's wife. Is that correct?

friends are in the hospital bc the fricking idiots issuing evacuations didn't let anyone know until it was too late. Three brothers and now their parents are missing. All in a cabin on a thanksgiving vacation. Not from the area
I've been reading the updates from local news up there and it's a pretty universal opinion that this was handled really poorly by TEMA. The local news stations weren't even carrying accurate info up to the evacuation orders. This ain't SELA where you can damn near see what's going on in LaPlace from Baton Rouge either. Fire could be burning on the other side of the mountain and you might never be aware that is that close until it's too late.

The back and forth bickering in tbis thread is amusing.

Damn that's an awful story.
However, I've watched enough movies to know splitting up in an emergency is pretty much the worse thing you can ever do.

Jon, a Memphis architect, and his wife, Janet, were vacationing with three adult sons near Ski Mountain. Sons are hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center Burn Unit in critical but stable condition.
I was reading about this family last night. Awful

Somehow, the father has to keep going for his son. I hope he can manage that if the miracle doesn't happen.

The Memphis couple on vacation with 3 sons have been confirmed dead
quote:
A Memphis couple has been found dead as fires rage through Gatlinburg. Their three sons continue to recover on the 11th floor burn center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Jim Summers, family member, posted on Facebook the family was aware the couple had died.
I am sorry to report that a 4:45 pm CST the Sevier County Sheriff's department has reported that the Medical Examiner has confirmed that two of the bodies found in North Chalet Village were Jon and Janet Summers.
Their 3 sons are aware. Your prayers are appreciated...

Any updates on the mother and daughter? I still don't see anything.

If this thing goes the way we suspect it will go, how in the hell does this guy keep it together enough for the sake of his son? I don't know if there is any amount of support and psychiatric help to get someone through long term grief and guilt like this.
Frick this. Frick all of this.
Frick this. Frick all of this.
