Can anyone tell me who is forcing these people to work there and work at those wages?

DETROIT (WWJ) – What started as a peaceful protest aimed at raising the minimum wage resulted in dozens of arrests after protesters spilled into the street outside of a McDonald’s restaurant in Detroit, blocking the road to traffic.
The scene unfolded before sunrise Tuesday at the McDonald’s along Grand River Avenue and Schaefer Highway, on the city’s west side.
As more protesters gathered at the scene, police arrived to maintain order. But the crowd continued to grow and protesters started rallying in the street — some even locked arms and sat in the middle of the road.
“We work, we sweat. Put 15 on our check,” the crowd chanted. “If we don’t get it, shut it down.”

Normal protesting is leaving and finding a higher paying job.

No problem with a legal protest. But once they start breaking the law and blocking the street on purpose, I have no problem with them being arrested

I wonder what that $15 per hour will do to their government benefits?

I thought these jobs were for high school kids starting out?
If you need more money, acquire a skill and find another job.

Yes. The ones that were not in the street. The ones that remain on the sidewalk in Baton Rouge.

nothing! minimum wage is not meant to be a living wage. Sure they may feel "rich" at first but in time that $15 will be worth the $8 they are currently making. So the government will still have to give them assistance.

Gotta admit. These folks can come up with some catchy chants. My protest would never be that good.

back in the 80's and 90's FF workers were mostly high school kids. Now you see 40-50 yr olds...dumbasses

Some will just work less to still receive their government benefits.

No permit needed for sidewalks that are public property. Those are the ones I am talking about. Look, I know you support free speech (as long as you agree with what is being said).
