Walking Dead solution?

When they finally get free and are moving on their own again(they will), why don't they head for the water and steal a boat? Stay in the water and head north hitting up towns on the coast for supplies until they hit Nova Scotia or somewhere super cold and unpopulated where there are few walkers and those that are left would have been frozen a long time ago.

one thing that has bothered me about the move to the D.C. Area is they are smack dab in the middle of a hugely populated area. Alexandria and environs was full of people and now presumably zombies
I get the walled enclosure with nice houses and electricity/water but it's not safe and it never will be. Correct ZA procedure would be to get away from populated areas

Their filming schedule is May-November in the deep south so there will never be a winter background.

Wear fricking body armor. These stupid assholes on this show are ways wearing jeans and a t-shirt. The walkers don't have weapons and they don't have super human strength and they are stupid as frick. A chain link fence keeps them at bay.
