So why are we getting rid of Ensminger. Let's be honest, our offensive success after Miles was fired had much more to do with Ensminger than it did with our former DL coach.

A lot of it also had to do with the opponents we played. We still struggled mightily against the 1 actually really good defense we played.

He won't last the length of his contract

That's where I think you're wrong. The excuses and fan sentiment for the good ol Cajun baw will make it nearly impossible to can him regardless of how much he stinks it up.

First thing first, Alleva must go before O would be gone.

Doesn't every team want to hire a great offensive coordinator?

Wouldn't need a great OC had they hired a real coach with offensive knowledge (like Herman or Jimbo).

Not even worth discussing, Coach O has made the right moves so far so what's to think he will stop now

This is true and why O doesn't need a superstar OC. With the athletes LSU has a competent OC that understands modern offenses would be enough to beat Bama

For $2mil a year, we'll definitely get an elite OC

Lots of valid criticisms of the O hire, but one of the silver linings is O's pay which allows us to open the checkbook for an OC and pay him HC rates

I feel pretty confident we'll have no shortage of OCs lining up for the job at that pay rate

If we can't get an elite OC Orgerons proposed plan is basically a scam.

Why does the OC have to be elite? By elite you mean a big name but a good OC would make LSU great

You really can not think this is a strategy that results in more than a fluke win every 3-5 years.

You can not reliably beat the best coached and most talented teams in college football without great coaches.

Once every couple of years, maybe, but not consistently.
