Why has his name not been mentioned as a potential candidate? He's a great coach in the toughest division of the toughest conference in all of college football and he still manages to get by. With all the talent at LSU he'd have the team clicking on all cylinders if we hired him!

I really can't wait for Jimbo to walk up to the podium in a purple and gold shirt and end all of this... I'm off of work until Monday, this is going to be the longest break ever. Not that that's a bad thing...

Heck no on Mullen.

I stick by my original theory; that there are a few of Dan Mullen's cousins that lurk on TD, and keep dropping his name hoping it gets traction.

Mullen has the chest to coach at LSU... he just doesnt have the neck.

His name comes up multiple times per day on this board alone.

Yall could do a lot worse. I would take Mullen before a few of the names I've seen on the B list.

I get the feeling people come look at the coaching board for the 1st time and if they don't see a chip Kelly, Mullen, or insert______ stupid option here they feel they need to start another thread about it.

Yeah just like he beat South Alabama earlier in the year. He is a lower tier 2 candidate at best.

You just answered your own question.

But I'll say this, what he does at State is far and away better than what O did at Ole Miss. He's gone to six straight bowl games coaching the little brother school in a talent poor state. At the big brother school in that same state, O managed to win 3 SEC games. Nobody wants Mullen here and that is fine. But if you don't want him, why would you want O?

Well he's a more established head coach than Orgeron, and has his named been mentioned much at the end of any season as a viable candidate at a major P5 school?
