He has done well at FSU. But he's lost at least 3 games in 4 of his 7 seasons at FSU. The ACC is not the SEC West in terms of competition. He had some great years with Jameis Winston. Other than that, his offenses haven't been spectacular...this year FSU is ranked 33rd in yards per game...we are 70th.

Most LSU fans couldn't wait to get rid of him when he stayed on as offense coordinator after Saban left.

I would prefer a younger, more offensive minded coach.

His last season lsu put up sick numbers offensively and that was with Miles in the way. I certainly wasn't in the good riddance camp.

He's a great coach.

Has won a recent NC.

Safe hire.

Great offensive mind--shits on LSU's offensive numbers

Great recruiter-one of the main reasons we kept Miles last year was to keep a lock on that recruiting class for the ages. FSU finished above LSU in recruiting.

Knows the people, territory, HS coaches, etc.

I rather Herman, but Fisher is about as good of hire LSU could ask for.

Fisher is a great fit at LSU and has done it all. Homerun hire without a doubt.

I swear if I could get away with internet murder, I would.

If someone needs to explain why Jimbo then you're just wasting oxygen for the rest of us.

In 2006, we were ranked 14th in total offense with Jamarcus Russell.
In 2007, after Jimbo left, we were ranked 9th with Matt Flynn.

Statistically yes.. both 2007 and 2006 seasons were statistically some of the best in LSU history. Both ranked in the top 5.

Statistically, fisher was part of three out of the top five LSU offfenes of all time. Fisher was not part of the problem.

So that's what we have become? If we wanted "safe" we should have stuck with Miles.....

I agree he is overrated. He is not coming to LSU. He is staying at FSU

It is this season. Other than Bama the rest of the West and the East are complete garbage.

People need to realize the SEC is not good as it once was. I will hate to see the SEC bowl record this year.

You and I have been on the same page for awhile.

I truly don't get what tape/metrics/results/pov some of these posters are coming from. You have to think some are trolls, but reading into it, you see most are real.

They completely want to dismiss a coach with a resume that LSU has never previously hired. It's like Bill Gates offering to be the CEO of your startup and you tell him "do not want".

So, you can't figure out from your own statement why Jimbo left?

Jimbo broke school records in 2001 and 2003. Won the west every other year here. Was a miracle on markham from winning the west in 2002 with Marcus freaking Randall.
